Did a few DIY mods

Spent 2 hours yesterday doing a few mods. Painted the badges, put in the two tone side sills, also took out the side door moldings, and put on the TM3 sticker and washed my car. Tell me what you guys think. Good or bad.

Now I see what the door mouldings... or lack of.. looks like...

I wasn\'t sure if it would make our 3 look like a Matrix or not.... looks pretty good :)

Took me a while to do 4 doors. The tapes were pretty tight and i had to peel it out little by little at a time. But over all i\'m very pleased with what i did. Turned out pretty nice. I\'m also thinking of pulling out the mazda symbol at the back and paint it black. Any comments or suggestion to that?

If ya black out the emblems... maybe smoke the taillights... and get some tint...or darker tint.

i tried the front flying M and it chipped after my 1600km trip to NJ.. i didn\'t use any clearcoat tho!! maybe you can tell everyone what paint you used, how many coats, how it\'s holding up, etc. i painted the sidemarker rings and axela badge but after seeing how the front chipped i said.. bah 4get it.. and used paint thinner to remove the black paint, although i\'d think it would look HAWT!

The paint i used i got from crappy tire. I didn\'t bother buying the ones from the auto department since it\'s $8 and i\'m only using it once. So i just walked to the household paint section and found a bottle of large spray paint indoor/outdoor for $3. I think i only did 3 coats and i didn\'t use any clearcoats. The axela badge i stuck on with the tape provided and the mazda badge i just used some auto body glue and applied some behind the sticking out point and stuck it on. So far so good and it\'s stuck pretty tight.
I\'ll update the names of the products in used later today because its too cold and i\'m too lazy to go to my garage and check.

As for tinting the windows. I\'m waiting for my friend to go with me since he has to tint his as well. :)

you GLUED that badge on? were the 2 clips not good enough or did you manage to break them???? lol..

if the paint didn\'t chip so easily (front flying M) i may have done it too but i think it might look funny chrome in the front and black on the sides/back..

i wonder what paint colour would look good on a black 3... i wanted to do this mod for a long time, but i dont kno. i was thinking red to match the red in the seats. what do you ppl think...

Where\'d you get the Axela badges from? I did a similar project over the weekend except I also installed my S-Techs.

I got the badge from Auto City (Japanese store) from first markham place just before they sold it to some chinese dude. The guy that works there i knew cause i\'ve bought many things from there. It was selling for $40 but he gave it to me for $20.

Wow there selling them for that much!?! Was it the authentic Axela badge(in a plastic bag w/ Mazda part number)? The OEM Mazda one only sells for $15.09 retail and $12.07 club price.

Yes it was the one in the plastic bag with mazda part number. They listed the price on the display window $40 and that guy gave it to me for $20. So i thought i got a good deal.

I like everything except the painted emblems.....not feeling those for some reason.

Well at first when i didn\'t know the stupid mazda emblem are installed with holes to the car. I was planning on taking everything off and have a clean look at the rear. But stupid mazda made it the way it is now. Also i see too many white 3s up in markham. I decided to do something different so ppl don\'t think it\'s the same 3 their looking at everyday or every white 3 they pass by. :)

I think you should do a dark grey colour... similar to a black Camry \"sport\" model. I think that would look nice.

I want to take it out too but i didn\'t have enough time when i did the other ones.
