Can you guys tell me which shipping company from the US is the one that can
bypass our customs duties?

Thanks,
Ray

I wasn\'t aware that there is one.....only way I have seen to avoid the duty /custom brokerage fees is if the item you are buying is a gift, warranty replacement, or if the value listed is under a certain amount $20.00 us?? then they don\'t charge duty on it.
Best thing for you to do is talk to the person you are buying from, ask who they use to ship and ask some questions to UPS or whoever they use.

I got sent some parts before and the guy that shipped them put a value of $5.00 and stated it was replacing a defective part and I got charged nothing extra!

Just stay away from UPS, FedEx and DHL (in that order). I\'ve had to pay taxes and duties on items shipped by USPS as well, but as stated above it depends on the declared price of the item being shipped. Come to think of it, I don\'t think I\'ve had to pay Purolator a dime on items I\'ve won on eBay. They usually handle items shipped through EMS (Japan, I believe), as well as the postal service in Europe and Australia.

I believe the taxes are charged by any of the courier companies. It depends on how and what was declared by the seller before shipping the item to you. I\'ve bought stuff from ebay and received them through UPs, Canada Post and Puralator and had to pay GST and PST with all of them.

damn.... thx guys.

so, if i buy a digital camera, and the mark it as a gift valued at $10,
it should get through?

should i risk doing that?? i mean, it\'s more likely for someone to steal a box
labelled \"camera worth $650\" than a \"$10 gift\" right?

thanks again,
Ray

customs can always OPEN the box and re-evaluate it at their discretion.. you might end up paying for duties on a $1000 cam instead b/c that\'s what they could asess the item @. USPS is the best for shipping since the last 2 times i had something shipped via USPS i had to pay GST/PST (15%) plus a small $8-10 handling fee.. but no crazy brokerage fees...

USPS is better than FedEx/UPS/ETC because the brokerage fees they charge can be hefty..
