to have yourname@yourlastname.com as an e-mail address? i bought the domain of my last name and want to sell addys to others with the same name. i was thinking ballpark range of $10-20 a year...

i would pay these guys (http://www.namespro.ca/) $12.88/yr and get my own.. oh wait.. i already do that :D

and what i am saying is .. for the lower end of the spectrum of what you\'re asking for, they can do it themselves and have control over the entire domain. granted there\'s probably a few ppl who want elsquid.ca but they can get el-squid.com/net or whatever and not have to pay YOU :D :p

i think i\'d pay for something like that though. the address is simple and is only mylastname.ca

i figure why not try anyways. i have 5,000 e-mail addresse that i will never use. might as well offset some of the cost of the domain and server

To be honest I wouldn\'t pay anything....I prefer not to advertise my name in an e-mail address if at all possible.

good point. i dont offer my name address to anyone except family and friends. i use my yahoo accounts for any web-dealings i make.

i appreciate the feedback regardless of what i decide to do.

either way, there are 350 listings in canada for my last name (from canada411). if these listings have an average of 2 household members, and another 50 that aren\'t listed (but are related to ones that are) that\'s 800 people. to send all listed ones a letter, it would only cost me ~$160 to do this. even if i only get 20 or so to sign up, i am still ahead, if not, oh well, $160 is not a big loss.

just keep these things in mind

1) if i got a letter from you i\'d be pissed :p
2) not everyone is a geek and they are happy with elsqiddo69_hotsex@hotmail.com address
3) if you\'re worried about spam, do what i do.. say you sign up to this site.. i would sign up with tm3@elsquid.ca.. to amazon.. amazon@elsquid.ca.. etc etc..

this gives you a good chance of catching the culprit that sells your email addy.. and if it\'s a shady place go ahead abd use your elsqiddo69_hotsex@hotmail.com account

this helps you remember logins (email ones) and lets you sort your mail.. obviously anyone can send mail to info@elsquid.ca or web or sales or whatnot.. but you get the idea..
