I\'d love to see how Mazda would do in the World Rally Championship (WRC). I\'ve been a big fan of watching it on the SPEED network.

i know Eric Burmeister (the dude who drives that car) a bit..... he used to race Protege with about 200 horses in it (NA engine) and i even saw it in action at the STPR rally in the states. I\'ve talked to Eric briefly when he came up to watch/work at the Black Bear Rally in ontario 3 years ago (i was servicing for friend of mine at that time and i didn\'t have mazda back then .. :) ).. .he\'s a cool dude and he knows a lot about mazda... mazda usa acutally sponsors him (at least partially) and this year he will probably end up doing US Rally Championship (http://www.unitedstatesrallychampionship.com/) and not Rally America Championship.

his mazda 3 is highly modified... he runs turbocharged 2.3L moror in Group 5 class (highly modified 2 wheel drive class that alows use of turbochargers/supershargers).

Look at the custom suspension links in the rear. Very nicely done, I wonder how it handles and if they kept the geometry the same.
