I know HIDs are not a big deal but here are some pics I quickly took after the install. The weather was crappy but I wanted to snap some quick shots.

I am loving my choice of the 6000K over the 5000K. I really like the colour a lot. The bluish tint is pretty sweet. I took it for a quick drive and it makes a world of difference. I am still not totally happy with my install we were getting cold so we didn\'t finish it up nicely (I just want to clean it up a little better):p
I must say the 3 looks pretty sweet with HIDs! :D

Looks really nice, and since I have the exact same car it gives me a great idea of what to expect once I finally save enough $$$ for two kits (can\'t do my car and not the wife\'s, especially since we trade all the time ;) )

Thanks guys... I am happy with my late Xmas present (to myself) :p

I guess as everyone says it is personal choice on what output your prefer. I chose 6000K because of the slight blue in it. I actually like what my car has over the BMW (bias ;) )

PSIVIC... make it an anniversary gift to yourselves. Your wife will love them.. nothing says love like HIDs. They are bright and shiny... unless she wants the other bright and shiny things that cost WAY more. Or you can use my logic with my wife... the car needs them especially during the winter months... it is for OUR safety ;) Or you can break the cost down over per use and it\'s a bargain.

Hahah, that\'s hilarious.....I use the exact same logic (if you can call it that) with my wife. She\'s all for it, but there\'s a couple of other major purchases I want to make before then.....like a nice TV stand.

Majic ... haha :p HIDS are enjoyable... I am sure HIV is not.

In regards to the colour... last night I thought it looked bluish... but now that you mention the lavender colour I am wondering if I am seeing that? Maybe I should run down to the parking garage at work and fire up the lights and stare at them. I\'ll bring some people to see what they think as well. :p

I think I looked at everyone\'s setup... had my laptop in the garage on wireless. I liked how yours was done but I am still trying to figure out the cleanest way to hide/mount everything. The Prolumen kit is good except there are so many things to ground and you have to mount the balasts as well as the igniters.

Mazdatree... just buy them... you know you want them... just do it.. do it ... do it.. come on just do it... :D

PSIVIC... the lights will be more enjoyable than a tv stand. Unless there is a new tv in with the tv stand?

Well, back in March of 2005 we bought a nice shiny plasma TV and just plunked it down on the stand meant for my old CRT HDTV. Needless to say it looks quite out of place and we haven\'t found the right stand until recently. Too bad it\'s likely gonna cost more than two sets of HID\'s :(

Ouch! You guys never considered mounting the tv on the wall? Isn\'t that one of the beauties of having a plasma? It also has the WOW factor.

still need a bracket and those don\'t come cheap .. on avg. 3-5 bills depending on the type

going back to HIDs :D if they are prolumen (all that i\'ve seen) are purpleish.. xtecs are more on the blue side.. anyway.. the camera adjusts white balance and screws the pix up :p are you in the west end by chance, PM me?

Not in our current place.....ideally this TV will go into the bedroom when we buy a house and we\'ll wall mount it then. As Majic stated, the wall brackets are so expensive, and for a few hundred more we can get a nice piece of furniture to set the TV on and put all of my stereo components in.

That looks great! Glad you got the install done :)

As far as blue and purple goes, I have both the Xtec 6000K and the Prolumen 6000K installed on my car, the prolumen is more Blue and the Xtec is more Purple, here is a picture of both

Prolumens in the Fogs
Xtec in the headlamps

I will be changing the headlamp Xtecs to prolumens shortly as I think the colour is a lot better!

They are very close, but you can see more purple in the headlights

that pic totally makes me favour the 6k over other pics of 5k!! better to see them in person though and who knows what colour the garage is that it\'s reflecting off of. lol

The garage is a taupe/beige colour.

I still stand by my first call of a nice white with a bluish tint colour from the lights!!

We should have a meet and line up all the cars with HIDS per kit type to compare and settle this once and for all. :D

Next time I have a day where its a little bit warm, maybe tonight, I am going to install the Prolumens in the headlights, I will also do one 5000K and one 6000K so everyone can see the difference with the same camera at the same time :)

I think if you had those pics on your website it would help people make decisions easier on which kit they would prefer which should equate in more sales!!

But I think the best way is to see them in person.

I know I have been trying to do that for a while now, I am hoping to do it today! next week looks cold!

Camera\'s just have such a hard time taking a picture of light correctly, in person these lights are amazing

Put my car and Jobes next to each other. I got the 5k and he has the 6k. Mine are pure white, very little tint of blue if any. No colour shift either, like when you are at different distances or angles.

Ok you guys owe me it was freezing out there, but as promised here are the pictures, still hard to take a good shot, as the white balance on the camera gets confused, so the 5000K looks a little yellower then in person, I picked the closest pictures.

I am looking at just the one even without the looking at the other. Pulled it into photoshop and it has a lot of yellow with that area. I got the 5ks and their not like that at all. Photos will never do justice without any tweaking.

Yah that vid is quite good. Good job!

When I bought mine I wanted slight purple, like majic got using prolumen bulbs with xtec ballasts. But when I got the 5k it was just pure white, which is what I wanted originally anyways. I just never wanted blue looking lights, would like to see the 6k.

Nice vid.. definitely shows it being a lot whiter.

I wouldn\'t mind eventually meeting somewhere and comparing our kits.

Methodyst in his black car and me in my white! :)

Tonight was a lot clearer for a drive. I had to get used to the brightness of my lights. I will try to get a vid of my lights lighting up as well.

Like everyone has said... you have to see these in person to make your own judgement...

There is going to be small differences but they will be similar, I wish I was able to get a good shot of the 5000K as these pictures just do not capture it right

I find the Xtec 5k to have more blue then the Prolumen 5k. Theres something different with the output from the ballasts. Because majics bulbs have slight purple in them with the xtec ballasts and the prolumen bulbs.

If anyone is interested in a comparison between XTEC 5000k and ProLumen 5000k bulbs running off the same ballast, I have a ProLumen 5000k in the driver\'s side and an XTEC 5000k in the passenger\'s side - both running off the XTEC ballasts (don\'t ask...long story).

Pics won\'t do it justice as they both look almost the same, but the ProLumen is definitely brighter.

That\'s freggin odd. Mostly the Xtec I saw was on Xenon\'s car and it seemed to have a greater amount of blue in it. Maybe it was just his car screwing with eyes. But I remember seeing just blue dots also when he was driving behind me, hmmmm....weird.

That would also mean that majic\'s setup is a freak of nature and there is no explaining it. Damn gonna be hard to come by that slight purple colour. IT LOOKS LIKE AUDI LIGHTS!!!!!!
Damn I love the Audi lights.
