Looks amazingly nice. But anyone know the approx cost of this car?

hmm
personally speaking, i dont like the mazdaspeed signature ridiculously large lower grill lol... and the foglights integrated into the bumper like the sedan (the sport has black which makes it look seperate ya know?)
but its nice!

From what I\'ve been reading on the boards the consensus looks like between $30 to 33K.

i like how they made the grill for this one...
it\'s like the sedan fused into the hatch, looks better! and the fogs add to the agressivness as well!
Very nice. I like how the hood is not attached with the grill.

Since this has a Euro size plate on it I have to assume it is for Europe.......I wonder how the NA version will look.....will it retain the headlight washers for instance?

plus the rear fog/reverse lights..
lets wait for REAL photos and then decide.. the rear brake light seems to be outta place, front lower grill is nice, upper not so much.. and the fog lights - can\'t make up my mind on them..

not feelin the rear lower plastic grille..
i like the front fogs and front lower grill. but i think the fogs could have been done more with a more aggressive look.

No dual exhaust?
Mazda could have done it but they decided on a ricer monster tip.
Looks nice!
I like the front end (hood, grill and fogs)
Rear is alright could be better, I do however like the 3rd brakelight.
I was expecting different side skirts.
I will hold back my judgement until I see the Canadian production model.

That\'s a rendering of the Euro-spec Mazdaspeed3 (you can tell by the red light on the left side of the hatch\'s tailgate - rain light?). It\'s also mentioned in this thread (http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?topic=39830.0;topicseen) over at M3F.
I\'m a little disappointed in the styling, I was hoping for something a little more dramatic...I\'m not feeling those foglights.

You\'re probably going to see the red Mazdaspeed parts equipped 3 and not the actual Mazdaspeed3. Mazda usually reserves a big debut like this for a bigger venue show. Plus I would see the prototype at head office it was going to be there.

we both know that dual exhausts on an inline 4 cylinder are non-functional ;)
i\'d rather have a single large tip on a 2.5-3\" exhaust on a turbo i-4. then again, a dual exhaust looks better...hmmm, form or function? :D

Hey, anyone notice the extra led on the corner of the brake light?
http://johnjohn.kicks-ass.net/photo album/My Car - Mazda Axela/ledv2.jpg
I replaced my stock tails with LEDs from Mazda Japan and I don\'t have them.
I actually saw a Mazda3 hatch in a distance the other week and thought I saw a light there too. At that time I thought I was just seeing a reflection. Is this how they are making them now for 2006 models? ARRGHH!!! If they are, I\'m jealous again.

What I\'m wondering about the MS3 is how fast is it going to really be. The MS6 is 0-60 of 6.6 on mazda.ca but my friend was telling me on C&D it was 5.9. Now we all know that the MS3 cannot be faster than the 6! how fast do you think the MS3 will be?

overall. i think it looks good. not crazy about the front and rear bumper treatment and the 3rd brake light looks like a dirt collector, but i love the new front grill/hood.
....and the interior is sweet! exactly what i\'d want in my car...especially those seats. yummy!

Actually, I heard the MS3 was a bit faster than the MS6 (with the extra 20hp) due to weight difference.

I can Imagine the following or equivilent:
Velocity Red Metallic (from the pic)
Winning Blue Mica (in fact any colour that the RX-8 might come in)
Either Carbon Gray or Black
Yellow (I\'m hoping... but not that ugly yellow they had in the US)
I wouldn\'t be surprised if they brought back some sort of Orange (think Mazdaspeed protege)
I\'m seriously thinking of getting it the 2nd year it comes out... I personally would be torn between Blue (Especially if it was Winning Blue) or White (either Pearl or matte white)

One of the amusing things that happened at the auto show lastnite, beside watching Broli vogueing in a Mazda 6 :). Was that I joined a conversation about the Mazda3 Speed with another couple and a salesguy.
He didn\'t seem to knowledgable about the 3 in general. So when he told me that the Mazdaspeed 3 was going to be a 2.0L Turbo I kinda scratched my head.
His reasoning was Mazda always uses the smaller engine w/turbo in their Mazdaspeed cars.
Hmmmmmm....

There won\'t be a 2nd year run, Mazdaspeed\'s are a 1 year deal. (the Protege did have a 1.5 but it really wasn\'t a Mazdaspeed to begin with)

On my visit to the Mazda booth today at CIAS, I inquired with the attending sales staff about content on the Mazdaspeed6 and was surprised to find no navi option available - as is offered on typical run of the mill 6\'s.
My questions turned to the upcoming Mazdaspeed3 (Mazda3 MPS) regarding pricing and content. I\'ve studied the web posts from burrows that was leaked to the press and it clearly shows navi with sport seats offered on this model. I was told today that the pricepoint will likely be 1-2K above a loaded (read fully contented) Mazda 3 Sport. To achieve this, Mazda MPS will not have navi, heated seats, HID or the goodies I originally forecast when I suspected a pricepoint of CDN$30K. Similarly, it will be a low production run similar to Mazdaspeed6 at around 900 units, with colours probably offered as either mica red, black or silver. (Crap - no yellow!)
In a way, this will be good news if Mazda Canada can come in at a bargain pricepoint for those of you willing to trade up from your lowly sedans(LOL), since you WILL get a better all round package of performance and looks - and tell your banker that Mazda3 MPS really is worth the thousands of dollars in refinancing that depreciation on your trade-in will cost.
We\'ll see the truth next month in Geneva at the unveiling and when Mazda Canada issues a press release to the dealers and media.:p

I think Mazda will miss the boat on the Price point...
Either it will be around the $29-30K mark... but with nothing extra, just a GT with turbo and seats.
Or.. $35+K Loaded up with stuff no one really wants...

for some strange reason, i get the feeling that sabio is looking into the G6 GTP?! how\'s the fuel economy on that thing? GM\'s pushrods (Over Head Valves - OHV) are surprisingly fuel efficient ;)
keeping this on the mazdaspeed3, if the 2.3L DISI w/turbo is anything like the one in the speed6, look to put in sunoco94 (or pioneer93 minimum) as the ECU on the speed6 cuts boost after approx. 4800rpm with anything under 93 octane. it is one of the reasons why most of the road tests in the USA magazines have complained about the car losing power after 5000rpm and feeling \"slow\" in the upper rpm ranges.
