Step#1. Have your tires, valve, stems, wheel balancers and center caps removed from your alloy rims. Store various items in a clear plastic ziplock bag and keep in a safe place.
Step#2. Go to a Coin-Op and powerwash your rims so they are decently cleaned for transporting in your car.
Step#3. Visually inspect your rims.
If they are in mint condition they only need to be chemically stripped.
If they have minor to heavy scratches you need to probably go to the sandblaster mentioned above or you can dremel or sand them out yourself by hand.
Step#4. If you have pictures or an actual metal sample of the colour rims you want.., take it to the powdercoating place so they can go through a catologue with you to choose the best match.
Remember to call ahead at each of these places and tell them what you are bringing. You will be required to leave your name and contact information and they will give you A CASH PRICE which you will pay UPON PICK-UP.
Remember they are industrial companies with other mass products so they will get to your rims when they see fit. Turnaround time can be 3-7days to do a proper job and to RELOAD THEIR SPRAY & BAKE LINES.
Remember to transport your wheels safely with garbage bags and carboard inbetween to prevent clanging.
