Driving South With Snow Tires

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts/suggestions/pros/cons on driving south to Mrytle Beach SC with Snow tires.

I was thinking of changing to my summer tires to drive down to SC however I think just in case of snow/ice I will keep the snows on. Weather at the currenty moment is not bad on the route but one never can tell
