The only weakness I found in the script is the last part, \"payments to be made by cheque\".......All u can do to avoid being scammed is tell him CASH only.......

WWAAAAAAIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTT!!

immediately stop all correspondance with this guy!
I had a similar experience off of a classified ad site I had an air conditioner for sale, a guy wanted to send a shipper up to pick it up he would mail me a cashiers check etc....I gave him my mailing address to arrange payment. he wanted to pay more than my asking price and i became suspicious.
i emailed back and told him the air conditioner dropped and was broken, he still insisted he wanted to buy it.
I stopped talking to him and a week later a US cashiers cheque for $3500 came to me by UPS. I did the smart thing by actually phoning the bank in the states to verify the amounts etc.
I was then tols the cheque was a stolen cheque that had been forged. if i had deposited it, i would have gotten the amount taken back out and the scammer would have gotten away with me giving him the balance.
The guy then sent an email asking for his money, i told him i went to cash it and they called the cops- and the cops have his cheque I even gave him the # of the local police station-needless to say he never emailed back- i still have his letters and the \"cheque\" as a reminder
I beleive this is called the *****ian mail scam or something like that. they also write in their letters \"God Bless you, i have a sick mother\" etc.

To top it all off i called our local cops and thought they might like the \"evidence\" of fraud, i was told by the cop, just throw it out and be careful who you deal with on line. the funny thing is a month later a similar thing happened to this kid and he was out of pocket for$1500 cause he cashed it and sent the remainder to the \"buyer\"
I was also selling a trailer on a different site and this guy with bad broken english asked me if he could buy it for $1500 over the asking pricesight unseen I told him it was sold he then asked if I had anything else to sell -I told him i\'m aware of the mail scams and don\'t bother contacting me again.

A long winded story i know but you are smart for asking the question, and even smarter if you avoid this scammer!

WOW! I just typed in the address of the site I used before: www.intoko.ca
and it comes up to the site you were using kiiji.ca what a coincidence i also found this on their site:

3. How to Recognize (a few examples) online scams and fraud:
a. It sounds too good to be true – trust your gut!

d. The seller is not local or is from a GREAT distance away

It would be safer to just put your tires for sale here, we\'re almost all a trustworthy group of people (unless you\'re car is orange!)

Of course this is a scam......why would a guy from the UK want to buy a set of used tires from NA? By the time you factor in shipping, exchange, and wait time, you could likely get a brand new set over there for the same money.

I get responses like that to pretty much every ad I put out there, even ones on eBay!

Sounds like a *****ian Scam to me.

When I was selling my Civic some guy from the UK with ties is Africa was offering me $25,000 for my Civic that was advertised for $14,000.

He was going to send me half of the $25,000 via bank draft. Then I would have to ship the car using his export company.:sarc

I reported it to the RCMP.

This is 100% a scam, they will say wait till the check clears, which it will but then later the bank will take the funds back because of a stop payment or something in the other country.

Do not sell the him!!

I wondered how long it would take you to catch the orange car dis
you must have a pager that rings everytime someone picks on the orange!
