I just did my taxes and got a sweet return, more than I expected. Now I\'m in a dilemma, what should I buy for my car. I was already in the process of buying short shifter, powder coating rims, now I\'m thinking

1. mazdaspeed exhuast (liked what I heard from Gab\'s car)
2. mazdaspeed cai (good price, not sure about performance)
3. HID (not sure which ones)
4. ????
5. ????

Any suggestions would be great!!

I like the MS exhuast.. it sounds pretty good. I guess no resonator helps. But being a cat-back thats about 5hp.
As for the CAI..get the cheapest one. They are only good for 2hp anyway. Cooler air is good, but it\'s no supercharger.
Get the Prolumens. Great price and as far as I know no one has been screwed by Devin.:)
Theres $1000. That should be enough for now..

Stash the rest away for later.

well... there is a rear sway bar..those are kewl too.

but...cancel the short shifter...screw the powder coat..you\'ll have a wee bit over $2000!Your getting close to the halfway point of owning a TURBO:D

my 2 cents

IMO, exhaust, cai, and save up for rims/rubbers if u dont have a set yet...

:)

I\'m saving up for the exhaust cai and rims myself. Comming to this forum on a daily basis is really tempting me. EVIL EVIL!

If you have any outstanding Credit card debts, I would pay those off first.

I\'m actually debit free, the only thing I pay for is my car.

I would use it to save for the down payment for a house (if you don\'t already own one)or save it for something that will have some form of return. Don\'t just spend it because you have it, think long term.

Best advice thus far, and it would be mine as well. Buy yourself a CAI or something sure, but don\'t blow it all on the car. Nothing is as rewarding as owning your own home IMO.

The $1700 return is from my RRSP contribution, by the end of this year I will have enough for a down payment on a house. Besides, I wasn\'t planning on blowing all $1700 on the car, more like $1000.

I\'ve decided to purchase ms exhuast, HID and springs, I\'ll wait on the ms cai, I heard there were problems with that unit.

To each their own, but an extra $1700 on a 25 year mortgage is huge. It would save you at least 5 times that amount in the long run as well as lowering your monthly payments. Also, if you can put down enough money on your down payment (25%)to get rid of paying the CMHC insurance on your mortgage that will put a hell of a lot more than $1700 in your pocket.

Just reminding you to think long term :D
