I am just coming up to the 1 year mark of owning my silver Mazda 3 Sport /05. Its been real nice weather lately and I am just starting to notice some issues with the car.

The paint on the front is chipping way to easily. I have had a large chip in the first week, and now a year later there is 6 chips on the hood. This is more than I had after 9 years of my old integra.

My rims are also starting to corrode around the hubcap. This is just typical of using the tires in the salt, but its sad nonetheless. If we had a worse winter, I would have bought the snow tires and saved the rims. The corrosion is minimal but I suspect it will bubble like the other peeps have reported. (my old integra did the same thing).

Just last week I had water dripping from the left column/pillar between the sidewindow and windshield.. This is the newest problem and I have not been able to figure out. It seems that rain is getting in somehow and pooling in the pillar where the soft roof canvas meets the plastic pillar. This has happened once before during the winter when snow was melting. Unfortunately I can never get Oakville Mazda to take a look at it while its dripping, only a few days later at which point they can not duplicate the problem. Has anyone else noticed this problem? I dont know if its getting in via the sunroof or somehow in the plastic tracks of the roof rack thingy.

And sadly.. someone has scraped my back bumper while pulling out of a parking spot ...i assume parked next to me. Hopefully the touch up paint will stop it from peeling and getting worse.

wow.. they don\'t sound so minor to me.. I say you should go get the rims replaced like everybody else has..

that sux about your bumper.. are they minor scratches?? having never used touch up paint before I couldn\'t tell you if it would help..

but I\'d bring the car in and get everything else checked out.. maybe you should try another Mazda dealership if Oakville Mazda isn\'t working out.. it could possibly be worth your time and efforts.. if you looked around a bit you\'ll see that everybody loves going to Mazda of Toronto since there are two regulars here working there.. aka, TheBiz and FlipSpeed..

good luck with your issues..

nothing new.. look at other cars.. unless your chips are HUGE then that\'s \'normal\' with the new \'weaker\' paint and different application process..

It\'s your sunroof. I purposely left open my sunroof (tilt mode) during a drive in light drizzle and eventually water started dripping right at the corner where you mentioned. Your sunroof is leaking. Should get it checked out. It\'ll be worth the drive to a reputable dealer/service.

I have since taken the car to Erin Mills Mazda and they hired \"the Water Doctor\" company to fix the leak. They found a small hole in the seam somewhere by the windshield near the pillar. I can see theres silicone type glue along the track on the roof of the car so they must have filled all the little holes up.

Hopefully no more leaks. Was all covered by waranty.

^^^ I stand corrected.

Thanks to advise on the fixes, dingocrud!

I havent heard a good thing about Oakville Mazda; if they were really concerned about your problem why didnt they take a hose and spray water on your car and try to diagnose it on the spot? stupidddd :sarc
