It would be cool to go - think I might have seen him too at the Guv... I\'d also have to talk with the gf about going.... and odds are it won\'t happen (visiting her parents that weekend most likely) - oh well - there\'s Labour Of Love in Sept... depending on who\'s spinning.

I\'m one of the people that buy a CD if I like the artist. 3/4 of my CD Binder is Tiesto and Darude. Tiesto\'s discs aren\'t cheap either, usually $20-25 each. Although it would be really nice to see Tiesto in Concert, like I have every year since I turned 19, $60 is asking a little too much for me.

I\'ll wait until December, when he comes around, when the tickets are only $25. He usually comes twice a year, once in the spring and once in the Winter, usually first week of December.

Tiesto is over-hyped like no tomorrow.

R: That\'s another big, thing: a lot of people say that you\'re a risky mixer. You take a lot of risks in your mixes, rather than making it smooth. Do you see yourself as a risky mixer?

T: Yeah, I see myself as a risky mixer because I think if you mix very clean, that\'s great for like 3% of the audience, but the other 97% who don\'t have a clue about mixing tracks, they want to hear the mix. So, I like them to hear the mix, so they know there\'s a new track coming in.

Good point - In so much as I said \"it be cool to go\" - it would be better if there were other DJ\'s spinning with him (aside from the resident DJ at Circa who\'d be opening for him). That\'s why I have a preference to events on the long weekends at the Guv like Labour Of Love, etc where they have a number of DJ\'s spinning.

OMFG Tiesto was awesome last night!!!!!!!!!! Holy ****. ;)

The Docks was set up pretty nice, the lights and the floor space.

Tiesto came out at around 12:30am and finished around 5am. We stayed for the whole night, from like 10pm until 7:30am.

Here\'s someone else\'s video (http://media.putfile.com/20060521-Tiesto-at-The-Docks-Toronto-49) from higher up of the crowd. It was skin-tight PACKED!!!

Tiesto

Glad to hear you had a good time Warren!!! Tiesto is great, and I would have loved to go, but my budget didn\'t permit :(. He\'ll be back around christmas again (if he follows is usual pattern).

As for the music I like listening to:
Tiesto
DJ Micro
Darude
Louis DaVito (sp?)
Arrmen Van Burrenand

and a whole bunch of smaller groups that didn\'t really make it to north america...
Lost Witness
Dallas Superstars
Alba
... just to name a few

All us Trance Addicts should meet up and just discuss music :D it would be fun.

In addition to wtom\'s mention of di.fm, you may also want to try RiseFM.com and ETN.fm. Those are my favourite two internet radio broadcasts. Darude actually mixes every second thursday on ETN.fm, and they also provide torrent links to the mp3 files of the mixes :) Legit downloading :)

I have never hid the fact that I am a trancehead.

I think, whenever someone hears the word \'trance\' they associate it with drugs, kinda like Country Music and \'a truck with a rifle rack\'...

My obsession with trance started with Chris Sheppard and Pirate Radio * gulp *

I remember those days, back when the Guvernment was called RPM.

I don\'t know about Trance, too many BPMs for my tastes.

Xenon

I originally started as a Euro Freak. Maxx, Daisy Dee, JK, N-Trance...

Then I slowly got into Euro-Trance, which is in between: Neo Cortex, OceanLab, Ian Van Dhal, DJ Encore....

The finally I made the transition into trance: Tiesto, Darude, Oakenfold...

I listen to a mix of all three genres now, but trance moreso than Euro-trance, more so than euro.

My friends and I went to Cosmic Gate @ Viva Nightclub last friday. We arrived there at approx. 11:30-12:00am thinking that it would\'ve been packed. At around 2:00am, more people arrived, and Cosmic Gate finally came out. Cosmic gate played some pretty good tracks but I was hoping for some old ones such as \'Exploration of Space, Urban Train (DJ Tiesto and Cosmic Gate Remix), Milkway, etc. One old tracked that got me pumped was Punk (Remix). Not sure if any of you heard it but if you did, then you know its a good song. Overall it was a fun night.

Anyone here like PVD? van dyk?

Oakenfold used to be amazing.. but i don\'t like the music he started playing... too mainstream... best set was creamfields 98 ..(i think it was 98... my memory is going)

Time to rename the thread, TheBiz? TM3 Trance Addicts or the likes...

I grabbed any and all videos from May 21st ... it\'s just not the same as being there tho :(

Just seeing Tiesto up there bobbing his head and waving his arms along with the crowd, it\'s just as good as Jeff and his selling Mazda3\'s to everyone. :D

It\'s interesting to see how many people like electronica (whether it be trance, house, etc).

Sometimes you get the impression that it\'s \'dead\' (remember at one time the music biz said electronica was the future of music).

I miss the times going out clubbing late night/after hours and such.

I\'ve got an assorted collection of electronica - trance, house, chill, and still pick up the occassional album.

Some favs for me (regardless of genre/DJ/artist) - Tall Paul, Deep Dish, Donald Glaude, Daft Punk, various Back To Mine Albums, Zero Seven, Fatboy Slim (love the big beat), Armin Van Bureen, etc.

I\'m keeping an eye as to what\'s happening at the Guv for the July/August/Labour long weekends - generally they\'ve been not so bad.

maybe start a music interest poll.... electronica, rock, pop, etc....to be general

i like donald glaude too.. \'OFF THE HOOK\'!!!
Deep dish also one of my favs.... PVD, sasha digweed...

drum and bass is good once in a while, but i can only take so much of it in one night.

Check Donald Glaude Mixed Live - Session 1 - Buzz @ Nation, Washington D.C and Session 2 The Gallery @ Turnmills, London, UK (they\'re by Moonshine Records - the series of Mixed Live is pretty good - I have serveral of them).

Deep Dish - the ever classic, Penetrate Deeper

I have to agree with the drum and bass - good once in awhile/small doses ( :hoho )

For Happy Hardcore - if you like it that\'s kewl and all, but it seems to me it\'s intended for a hamster that\'s on meth, E, G and three shots of Red Bull - it\'s just a bit too fast for me.

Electronica isn\'t dead, it\'s just gone a little underground and out of the spotlight.

I think right now Hip Hop and R&B are the craze.

btw, anyone here like the band The Crystal Method? I saw them live in Florida once... damn that was a good concert.

i saw crystal method several years ago at the docks... not bad... i think electronica was always better underground.. in terms of what music people played... i found that the mainstream and pop electronica wasn\'t pounding enough... i like hard beats when the music is live... deep dish styles

TM3 - probably more like you - like the \'hard\'/driving house.

For Donald Glaude - Two separate albums/releases. Picked them up at HMV (downtown location) though I\'m not sure of it\'s availability now. London session comes also with a DVD of the set (so you can play it on your DVD player with a home theatre system in Dolby 5.0 sound and \'be there\').

Cool thing about the Mixed Live Sets is that they\'re recording when they\'re spinning at a club, so there\'s also the crowd heard in some parts (start to a song/set) and such. Some others me gots:

Baby Anne @ RA in Las Vagas (breakbeats & Baby Anne is pretty cute too)
Carl Cox @ Crobar, Chicago (he\'s Techno, spinning in the hometown of House)
Carol Cox @ Area2, Detroit (spinning in the hometown of Techno)
Dave Aude @ Velvet, St.Louis (hard house to funky house, spinnin on new years eve which is cool cause the CD starts with hearing the crowd shout \"Happy New Year!\")
DJ Dan @ Ruby Skye, San Fran (funky/hard house) - I\'ve seen him at the Guv and he was awesome!
Tall Paul @ Giant, LA

Actually, with all that I\'ve typed above, I\'m going to check out if any new sets have been released.

Similar to the Mixed Live is Moonshines djmixed.com series - DJ Keoki (funky/hard, techno), Mistress Barbara (vol 1&2 - techno - she\'s based in Montreal, originally an Italian model)

Barbara Brown (a.k.a Mistress Barbara, her more housey alter-ego) - I have her White Party Week CD (it\'s a big party they have the week of Easter in Montreal, which every year is in a different venue and everyone is dressed in white).

Also like Jelo - local DJ at that - got Scarlem Sessions and Live.Mix @ Baseline in Halifax.

For Deep Dish I got:
Deep Dish - Globalunderground #025 - Toronto - I was a bit disappointed with this album, because I was at the Guv when the we\'re \'recording\' it, however it turned out that they did a studio recording (from what I heard) at the Guv and it wasn\'t what they spinned the night I was there. Another strange note to this album was I picked it up in Glasgow, Scotland.
Deep Dish - Globalunderground #021 - Moscow - better than the Toronto one
The Masters Series part Tow: Ibiza
Penetrate Deeper

Just did a check on Moonshine - out of business.

Looks like what\'s out there is what\'s out there now.

i saw crystal method several years ago at the docks... not bad... i think electronica was always better underground.. in terms of what music people played... i found that the mainstream and pop electronica wasn\'t pounding enough... i like hard beats when the music is live... deep dish styles

hey jmak, where can i find this donald glaude set

Yeah i like crystal method and i usually get the ministry of Sound annual to get up to date on the house music
