Hey guys....last night while driving home I hit a pothole in a parking lot and blew my drivers side front tire on my 3 GT HB. I only have about 10K on my stock RSAs and I\'m looking to only replace the one. I called a couple Canadian Tire\'s but they have it as a special order needing 2-4 days to come in. Does any one know where I can get one??? Is a Mazda dealer my only quick answer??
As for other the wheel, it doesn\'t appear to be damaged and still seems straight....but that will be my investigation after I get a tire. And an alignment will also be on the horizon.

I got em in stock $234 installed with labour plus taxes.
Also check the Buy/Sell section for guy\'s parting out their RSA\'s.

Where did the accident happen? On a public road or private property?

In a big parking lot near my place. I should have known better.

City by-laws require that parking lots be properly maintained to a safe level to prevent injury and harm to those that would use the site. You may want to consider approaching the management company of the lot and let them know the damage that was caused. If it happened to you it could happen to someone else. Who knows...their property insurance may cover your cost.
Best of luck.

Its pretty much impossible for me to proove that it happened there plus there was no one else there to vouch for me.

I don\'t think you need a witness for that. Take some pictures of the pothole and contact the plaza\'s office.
I know for city related incidents you would do a claim through the municipal office.

FANG\'S NOTE:
I\'ve edited my response because I was posting the exact same thing as FLIPSPEED except my post was far more eloquent.

Maybe if you could type with more than 2 fingers your response time would be quicker :p
But back on topic... Flip and Fang make good points... what do you have to lose by reporting it and having your damages reimbursed?

I will have to find out who the owner of the plaza is and hopefully they\'ll care enough. Also want to report that thanks to Flipspeed, I was able to get the tire replaced very easily today. While not the most convenient stop (I was at my office over by the airport), it was definitely worth the drive.

well if u dunt care about $$$ then its ok LOL City of Toronto actually has a system for you to claim damages if your tires and rims ger damaged on public roads, You should look into getting your money back seriously. Take good pictures and did you take pictures of the damage? Or if Joe can vouch for the damage that be good nuff.

Been there done that.
A few months back I blew two tires going over a pothole. I filed a complaint to the City of Toronto - took a few months and lots of paperwork but eventually I got reimbursed. Just remember to document everything (date, time, location etc) and take pictures of the pothole if possible. Keep the damaged tire. It will likely be required for inspection.
Just write to the plaza\'s office. I\'m sure they have some sort of insurance coverage to cover incidents like these.

^^^ these guys are right.
Its called OWNERS LIABILITY ACT
Google it.
It also covers if a buggy for example was to hit your car and damage it. Despite what you\'ve heard (especially at Wal Mart they announce it all the time that they are not responsible) but they actually are. -- its more used as a scare tactic

yeah people will lie and say anything they can to stop you from taking actual action, but when you do and stay the course you will prevail in the end. :)

Hey all....just a quick update on my pothole incident. The primary tenant in the plaza was a corporate no-frills grovery store. Just before I went away for the week, I went to speak with the manager in hopes of finding out who the property manager was but he didn\'t know but he took down all of the info and i gave him a copy of the invoice from MOT for the new tire. While away he called me and said that his head office was offering to reimburse me in the form of gift certificates to the store...which by the way they had no reason to offer to me as they are only a tenant. After arriving back in Toronto yesterday, I popped into the store and sure enough he had them ready for me...all $260 worth! Since I live at home I gave them to my mom and she cut me a cheque for the amount and now i\'m happy!
This is probably the best customer satisfaction move I\'ve ever seen a store make especially since they had no obligation to!
