power steering gone

Have anyone suddenly lose power steering? Today I experience it, I just idling car for delivery to my customer, when I leaving the driveway, steering light come out. I tried to restart the car several times and couldn\'t reset it, based on the owner\'s manual, it means no more power steering. So for whole night, I using my own power to steer the car, quite tired but true more direct feeling:p . Could it mean anything? I don\'t think the fluid was leaking. it happened after I got the #1 engine mount replaced from MoT, but I suspect they won\'t be related. Anyone can help?

our steering is electric driven or electric assist. look there.

an electric motor drives the power steering pump. most likely that motor is gone.

should be replaced under warranty.

Thank you for your post. I have the same problem with my 04 Mazda3. The steering wheel becomes very hard to turn every now and again and the power steering light and exclamation light comes on. It goes away after a little while. The steering becomes hard to turn when the car is reversed as well.

Can you point me out to where the loose cable may be located? What is a "sarc"?
