Is it worthwhile to buy one? Were would be the best place to get one? I checked Canadian tire and they dont have them. Should the alternator be upgraded aswell if i upgrade the battery?

I notice that when my system is pumping my taillights are flickering thats why i am asking. Yes i know i sound like a newb but i just want some oppinions

Give some details on your system first. RMS Power? Brand etc.

Upgrading a battery does NOT require an alternator change. It is very rare that people need a tighter wound alternator, unless they have some SERIOUS juice.

A good bet for a Yellowtop is Wal-Mart (Today I noticed them at Sam\'s Club also, but I didnt check a price). I have read that they buy in such bulk, that most other resellers can not beat the prices. Not sure how true it is, but worth looking into, since Wally World\'s are on every corner.

Your only running 500W RMS, so you shouldnt have any dimming issues. Possibly a wiring problem?

How loud do you play your system? I have two amps (a four channel and a mono), upgraded speakers and a 10\" sub and my lights don\'t flicker at all. I am still using the original battery too.

batery must be low then because my system is on low and they flicker not very bad but enough to be noticed
