View Full Version : Question about wheel alignment?
When I drive my steering wheel is not dead center. IF I try to make it center than the car would swerve to the right, so would a wheel alignment fix this problem or is this another issue on its own?

An alignment will fix that. Just make sure you ask them to center the wheel while they are at it.
Thanks for the reply. What would cause a steering wheel to be out of position like that? and also is it a major problem if I dont get it fixed?

It\'s usually because the wheel alignment is out of whack. Maybe you hit something during the winter...potholes, curbs, snowbanks, etc.

Also, check your tire inflation. Ensure all tires are equally inflated. Improper wheel alignment shortens tire\'s life, increases gas consumption, affects handling. Have a wheel alignment done every year or 2 is recommanded.
If your steering wheel was out of center \"suddenly\", you properly hit something (eg potholes) like bluntman mentioned. However, front wheel alignment changes under normal, daily driving conditions. The change is gradual so it\'s not easy to notice.

Hey Bosing Bluntie,
Everytime I look at your avatar (Scarlett), It reminds me of the movie \"Match Point\" & \"The Island\". She\'s sooooooooooo hot!:p
Thanks for the useful information guys :)
Try your \"alignment test\" on as many different roads as you can. If every road causes your car to swerve right, then yes go get an alignment. Many roads are on an angle for water-flow purposes/drainage.
