for some reason my windshield wipers don\'t work!! I used them on saturday, june 3rd when it was pouring rain.. I went to turn them on this evening after spraying my car with water and to my surprise they didn\'t work!! I pulled the lever towards me to use the windshield washer fluid and the wipers came on.. the rear wiper works fine also.. I\'m going to give MoT a call tomorrow but does anybody have any ideas what the problem could be?? thanks..

My first thought is to check the fuse...

I\'m thinking wiper motor.
If your rear wiper works okay then the wiper switch is good.

that\'s odd.. if it is the motor I wonder how it would just give like that since I was using it on saturday morning..
in any case I made an appointment for tomorrow morning.. hopefully all goes well and it should be covered under warranty..

How can the motor be gone if the wipers still work when he pulls the stalk forwards to activate the washer fluid?

I just got a call back from the service guy from MoT and the part that\'s broken is some part they don\'t have in stock.. he said hopefully it\'ll be in by tomorrow.. luckily I don\'t need my car so I can leave it there.. and it\'s covered under warranty.. I\'ll post up the part name when I pick up my car for those that are interested and for future reference..
I couldn\'t hear the part name because the guy who called me had a really strong accent.. sounded a little russian to me..

Must be a glitch in the switch? You said the rear wiper was working?

yeah, the rear wiper is working and when I use the windshield washer fluid the front wipers come on normally.. only when I move the switch up and down to turn on the front wipers on that they do NOT work..

just got a call from Ali and looks like I won\'t be getting back my car today.. they installed the new switch and still no go with the wipers.. they\'re going to check the wiring and stuff.. keeping my fingers crossed.. hopefully they find the problem and it\'s not a big hassle/deal..

fyi, I just got my car back and it was an electrical problem.. I got a new wiper switch out of it.. ali was very friendly to me.. the only complaint I would have about him at the moment is his phone skills.. he just hangs up on u so quickly and without any notice (and no good-bye)..
also, for some reason the service guys moved the springs I have on my wiper arms putting more smudges/scratches on it.. and they didn\'t even move it back..

December 16th & 17th: my wipers stopped working again.. the weird thing is when I brought it to MoT on the 18th the wipers started working again.. since I was there I just left it at MoT for a couple of days.. they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it.. Stan told me to keep an eye on them..
January 14th: my wipers totally stopped working again.. this time the only way to get them to wipe was to use the window washer fluid.. also, the rear wiper works.. so I got to my destination and let my car sit for a few hours.. came back out and they started working again..
so I left my car at MoT this morning and asked them to check everything because I need to be able to count on my wipers since it is winter time..
has anybody ever seen this happen before?? thanks..

I got my car back.. the dealership changed the wiper switch for me.. they said it was defective.. if that's true, I guess they swapped out my original wiper switch for a defective wiper switch.. oh well.. as long as it works.. hopefully it'll be all good now..

Holy crap, so what happened? I thought they replaced it the first time you went in? Was the 2nd one defective as well?

well, they replaced it the first time but that wasn't the problem.. they said it was actually a wiring problem.. but they just left the new wiper switch on.. I guess that one turned out to be a defective one.. crazy.. hopefully this one won't give me any problems..

update: wipers hasn't been working for the past 2 weeks.. so I brought it in last monday and MoT is going to change the junction box.. vincent tells me that the junction box is what controls everything (or a lot of the things) in ur car.. such as, the wipers, headlights, stereo, etc..
so, hopefully my wipers will be ok after this..

I think the PJB will fix your wiper issue. Gotta go step by step sometimes to fix the issue.
You don't wanna know how much it costs if your car was out of warranty.

oh, I have no problem bringing my car back to get it fix.. I have a lot of patience and since I don't use my car during the weekdays it's all good for me.. I just feel bad for MoT because they have to spend so much time trying to figure out what's wrong..
damn, that much, eh?? luckily its only been 1 1/2 years..

that's good to hear.. and I can tell from vincent's tone of voice that he really wants to fix this issue.. I just feel bad coming in every few weeks since december complaining about this.. but I'm happy that the service guys have a suggestion to as what the problem is.. =)
I hope vincent isn't sick of seeing my face by now.. =P

My PJB was replaced and with a price of 1500.00... and I have been told the one installed is also defective, and needs to recall for repair... What else will break down after 3 years of the car? I do my reg. maintenance... My car is only 3 years old...

what is a "PJB" ?
Power Junction Box. Pretty much all the major vehicle functions are run of this main fuse block.

I was told by the mazda tech. PJB is a Passenager Juntion Box, which is defective so that cause the wipers, alarm, door, etcs. not working.....
