Has anyone had a problem with the car pulling to one side or the other when the brakes are applied? My girlfriends 2006 GT pulls to the right when she\'s braking. She says it pulls harder at higher speeds, i.e., it is more noticeable at on the highway at 100 or 120 than on a side road at 40.

Does anyone have any ideas on what is causing this? The car only has 13,000km. Does Mazda warranty brake issues such as pulling or do they only cover it as the very beginning (I know that’s what a lot of manufacturers do).

How about normal speeds is the car pulling still?

it could be the crowning of the road

does the car tend to go towards the right while it\'s in motion also?? because if it does then when the brakes are applied, if the steering wheel is leaning towards the right the car will no doubt turn a little in that direction..

I had a problem with my car as it wouldn\'t go straight if I let go of the wheel (after only 7500km).. it would slightly lean towards the right so I was always re-adjusting my steering wheel.. when I got my new rims I got the stock tires put on and it was balanced again (I\'m assuming).. now the car drives straight..

The warranty will cover whatever the problem is...warranty is bumper to bumper 60k and wear items i.e brakes, I believe are covered for 20k...If the car is pulling only when braking it could either be tire pressure or you might have one brake caliper grabbing, in any case only thing to do is take it to your dealer. And keep us posted.

The car tracks straight under acceleration and while crusing. It only seems to track right while braking and as I said, it seems to be worse when braking from higher speeds. The air pressure should be right but I\'ll double check that when I get a chance (I haven\'t checked since I took the summer tires off about a month and a half ago).

It\'s not the crowning of the road because the car will go straight until the brakes are applied.

I\'ll keep everyone posted. I wanted to get an idea of if this is common or not on the mazda 3.

Possible that the calipers are set slightly tighter on the right side of the car? Have that checked out by a mechanic if not yourself (experienced?).

May I suggest having your wheel bearings chacked?

Road profile has lots to do on how the 3 reacts to braking or accelerating.
The 3's are so responsive that the slight road crossfall or rut would make your car move one side or the other.

Try on a local road, drive on the road centre (top of crown).
If problem occurs, get you brakes, bearings, wheels checked.

It's still under warranty, so, bring it back! This is not normal wear and tear. So, just fight them if need to.
