I hear a groan or slight hum from the passenger side whenever I make a right turn
with my Mazda 3, 2006 with 16,000km. I do hear the hum if I was going maybe 40k or so and turn right. The noise goes off with the steering straightened. I am not sure how long this has been going on, but with the good weather and my windows open most of the time - I can pick up the noise.
Any ideas guys ?
Thanks.:sarc

My dad\'s 3 had this problem too. He took it to the dealership to have it fixed. IIRC it was the strut bearings.

I\'ve been having a similar noise that just developed after the last oil change (8000KM) but only at slow (parking lot) speeds. If I turn the wheel full left I get a metalic groan lower pitched than the squeal from the brakes but of similar sound.
I was hoping for it to go away since I\'m only at 8050Km but I\'ll take it in if anyone can confirm this is a serious issue (well serious for us car enthusists)

Here is an update:
Took the car in this morning - as it often happens, the mechanic was not able to duplicate the problem. He invited me to go on a test drive with him, and we drove around for a couple of kilometers and I tried to duplicate the noise but could not either. I will keep an eye on things for now. The mechanic confirmed that they raised the car up to check and could not find any problem area.
I have only heard the noise three times over the last couple of months - it donsn\'t happen all the time with me either.

Malam, is it a slight humming noise? I hear the same thing once in a while, but thought it was the road.

Yes, it is a slight humming noise - and only briefly as you make the turn.

I have the same problem once in a while. Have you had any luck with the dealership?
