i never had any problems with my car, but today when i went to go fill up gas at shell, they were out of bronze and they offered silver at the same price. so i filled up a full tank and as i drove out my engine light came on!
does anybody know what the problem could be? i filled up with the highest quality of gas at esso before and never had that problem. could it be the gas or something else?

check the cap.. if it\'s not on tight, the CEL will come on.. tighten the cap, reset the ECU (not necessary if THAT was the problem) and don\'t worry..

How do you reset the ECU?
I haven\'t had the CEL come on but In case I\'m dumb one day and leave the cap untightened this would be a useful skill (does pulling out all the relays and fuses reset the ECU?)

Probably just a loose gas cap.

ya.. the only thing that makes sense about that is you turn an electrical component (brake lights) on in order to drain any charge that is stored in the system
