EDIT

Hi all,

I\'ve decided to edit this post to be a review of my 48k service done at Mazda of Toronto. My original post is at the bottom.

I made an appointment for my 48k service at MOT on Wednesday. I dropped the car off in the morning with Stanley. Took advantage of the free shuttle to the subway. After a few hours a got a call from Stanley at work and he let me know the results of the test along with details and pricing of other services they were recommending. I told him I needed some time to think about it and he was very pleasant and didn\'t put any pressure on me to take the services. After consulting with my internal mole (FLIPSPEED), I got another call from Stanley. I thought, oh no, I\'m in trouble now! Quite the opposite! Stanley said he spoke with Joe and they found some better solutions that ended up bringing down the prices of some services (The TM3 club discount helped out too). After speaking with Stanley a few more times, we finally hamered things out and my car was ready for pick up just as I got off work. All services were done and the car was even washed for me. This made paying the bill a little more pleasant as Stanley, Joe and the team really stepped up for me. Anyway, all in all, I\'m extremely satisfied with the service I received and would encourage others to go to MOT for service.

Original post:

Hi all,

Will be bringing in my Mazda 3 hatch for its 48k service soon. This is my first big service that I have to get done, as I bought the car used with 37k on it already. Was hoping to get some advice from all the experts on the board.

I have done a search already and read through some very informative posts. The general rule I\'ve been hearing is that I should get any non-warrantied services done at other places for cheaper prices. However, I am on the Mazda extended warranty, so if I would get my work done elsewhere, how would this affect my warranty?

Basically I will shop around for prices, so far I got a quote of about $210-220 plus taxes at Avante, and will be calling Joe/and or Jeff at MOT as well.

Anything else I should be aware of before getting the service done?

Just give Vincent/Stanley a call regarding the 48,000km service.

$210.00 plus tax

hey rsquared,

What other services did you need/have done ? I\'m curious because I had a fair bit of work that needed to be done when I brought my car in for the 2 year maintancee recently.

SFW, for normal things due to wear, I had to change the rear brake pads and rotors (no more squeaking!), do a transmission and brake fluid flush and change the air filter. Other than that, I had one rim and 2 tires that needed replacing and had to get an alignment done, but that was due to an incident I had with the car.
