Ok so this is what I did and the reasons why.

I bought a set of 4 Kuhmo ASX tires for $100 each (brand new and their not refurbished either). The size of the tire is 215/50 r17 91W. Know I know that the M3 Sport GT comes with 205/50 r17 and most guys who own this car only go for high performance tires.

But the reasoning is this. My wife drives the car. She goes to work and takes it for grocery shopping. Once and a while we take the car for a ride with the kids in their car seats in the back. Thus she doesn\'t need a tire to take a corner at 100km/hour or to race down a side street. Secondly, with this tire it will be a little softer ride. I checked a few tire stores who told me that the difference in diameter is minor and you probably won\'t feel it.

so did I do ok or not??

P.S. even though this is an all season tire, I still plan on using the pilot alpine winters that I have mounted on steelies!!!!

The tires are categorized as high performance tires, they are good tires and for that price better, these tires cost arround $130 - $150, about the tire size everything is ok, theres not much diff between 205 and 215 and for the rest, you said it all, you don\'t need tires to take corners at 100km/h or to race.

You did good, don\'t worry.

ohh, where did you get them from??? :p

There have been a couple other people who have used those tires off the board. Not everything on this board is about high performance or anything, it all has to suit your life. I think that was a very good choice for your use, no need to worry. A lot of good reviews have been around for that tire.

Check out this review, those numbers should re-assure your choice

ASX.. excellent tire with a good treadwear rating.. for $100 each you did very well!!! so what the size is off a tiiiny bit

when your speedo says 60mph you\'ll be going 60.9mph (http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html) 1.6% difference is within the accepted range.. give us a review once you get some kms on these puppies.. :)
