just received an email and i didn\'t see it posted so here you go..
Dear Members and Visitors of the Toronto Mazda3 Car Club:
At approximately 2:30 PM August 27th, 2006, the servers of which torontomazda3.com and many other sites experienced a breach of security. This was a server-wide security breach, and was not aimed directly at torontomazda3.com. The hackers found a security loophole within the server security firewall and replaced all files beginning or containing keywords such as index, main, home or default. They replaced the files with their own webpage, containing propaganda which opposed the Israeli occupation of Lebanon and other issues relating to the disturbance in the Middle East.
Upon discovering this security breach, torontomazda3.com administration immediately informed the server provider of this incident. In an effort to quickly remove the message found on the hijacked web space, torontomazda3.com requested that our domain be brought offline until the problem could be resolved. The server provider quickly received numerous reports of the same problem and removed the entire server from service to begin restoring it to its original state.
Until the server has been restored and the security loophole has been repaired, the Toronto Mazda3 Car Club website found at www.torontomazda3.com will remain offline. Torontomazda3.com administration has setup a temporary communication site in MSN Groups at http://groups.msn.com/TorontoMazda3CarClub/. Damage assessment is currently still in progress. We have been told by our server provider that our database files have not been affected, however our homepage, which contained one of the affected keywords, may have been overwritten. We estimate our site to return online in approximately one week from the time of this statement.
Updates on this situation will be available on the MSN Groups site, until our website is once again fully functional. The Toronto Mazda3 Car Club sincerely apologizes for any insult or offence this security breach may have caused.
