I purchased the Falken ZE-512\'s i have now last fall. They are excellent tires and i do drive aggressively, so it doesn\'t surprise me that they are almost spent after 20,000 miles. Even though i do enjoy these tires for there incredible price, i am thinking about an upgrade. I\'ve narrowed it down to two choices, based on the fact that i want ultra high performance all-season tires, that i could use in some snow situations. The choices are the Kumho Ecsta ASX and the Toyo Proxes 4. Of course the biggest problem is looks compared to practicality. I really love the look of the Toyos, and the reviews on both are about the same, the price is about 30 dollars difference for all four. I can get a set of Kumho\'s for 384.00, and Toyos for 416.00. The big thing is i want the performance, better treadwear, and good looks.....So what do i go with???
I\'m sort of in the same situation, but I just want an all season tire that will do well in snow. Its gotta be cheap to!

Kumho
ECSTA ASX KU-21
205/50 ZR17 93W BSW asymmetric
Cooper
Zeon Sport A/S
205/50 R17 93W XL
The Kumho would be better in the summer, the cooper (look at its tread) would do better in the winter.
Question, where are you getting your prices?

Don\'t forget Tommy is American.... Those prices (I imagine) are in USD and don;t have the 14% taxes we would get nailed up here.

I have the Toyo Proxes 4 in 215/45/ZR17 91W and love them. Great tire. Better than the RS-A\'s in the winter... I\'ve had them on for 30,000km and they still look new. Lots of tread left.
For $400 bucks buy em. I paid $224.50 each. $1078.70 total after install & taxes.

Thanks Blackman, after researching all the reviews and observing very similar ratings. I found that the Kumho\'s are rated just a little better and better treadwear, but i am going to take a shot at the Toyo\'s because i\'m looking for a little more performance than treadlife. So it came to $416.00 US shipped to my door, and about $50.00 for mazda to mount and balance.....I can\'t wait to test them out.....
Hope you like them. I love em. I read 1000\'s of reviews on 1010tires.com and tirerack.com before I bought too. I actually put the same tires on my 2001 mx-5 too.
I have the kumho extas and bought them earlier this year,
great tire but I don\'t think you could do wrong with either
