opened the headlight housing, swapped out the halogen projectors with HID projectors, sealed back the headlight housing. commonly referred to as HID retrofit and can be done with S2000 HID projectors, TSX HID projectors, OEM Mazda3 HID projectors, etc.
check HID Planet (http://www.hidplanet.com) and their forums (http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/) for more information on HID retrofits.

i haven\'t seen an adjusted halogen projector with HIDs so I can\'t say.
In the pic posted, he has HID projectors, so you will not get that exact look if you don\'t use HID projectors.

yes I believe the stock headlights have 2 dials, one makes the light shine up or down and one for left or right....

So early in the morning waiting to go for my root canal
Anyways, here\'s a link from the online mazda service manual
HeadLight Aiming (http://www.icestormdesign.com/mwcc/mazda/manual/esicont/en/srvc/html/B3E091851030W01.html)
Now that I think about it, I remember trying to adjust my cutoff angle as well, it was during the winter after I lowered the car, I gave up cause it was so damn cold outside and a little plastic cap that I had to remove was getting on my nerves, I think I\'ll reattempt to adjust the height a little.
Thanks for reminding me =D

I\'ll see if I can make it out to the AA meeting this week... I\'ll definately be at La Paloma.
The headlight beam angle or height can be easily adusted. You just have to know how the projectors work so you adjust them properly. In addition to that, you can adjust them in different ways so that the beams can perform different things.
A while back when I adjusted all the headlights on the cars, it was to maximize light output on the road, and minimize glare to oncoming traffic.
My projectors are set so that oncoming traffic sees more purple than usual (mostly because of my crappy 04 projectors) and optimize the cut off. But I sacrifice some distance the light gets thrown.

There is a pair of TSX projectors for sale here (http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=200943#200943) for US $175 shipped within the US.

is that mean if i aim it higher, then the cutoff line will hv more colour ??

For the stock Mazda3 projectors, the higher you aim them above what they are supposed to be the crappier your cutoff gets, because the light doesn\'t go through the lens properly.
You will also lack the nice purplish colour once you are above the optimal lens refraction.
