I've decided to go with either the Semperit SportGrip or the Viking SnowTechs. Looking for a budget bang for the buck tire for now.
After reading many reviews of both, they both seem to be ideal for Toronto's weather.

Any suggestions, feedback on either or? I've read the few posts in meths thread
Just going on thread pattern what would you go with? (I like the thread pattern of the Semperits. LOL, I don't think I should base my decision on that though)
;D

Well Jean looks like a tough choice man. They both have the same speed rating the good thing about the Semperit's is that it's a new tire and widely available. Both are supplied by Continental.

I would go with the Semperit's.

I got the Semperits yesterday, getting them installed today, I chose them over the Vikings myself. I'll update later on how they feel on the road.

of the two, i'd go w/ viking....

i dont know too much about either, but ive read quite a few of the threads and some online reviews...but juding from the tread pattern, i think the viking's look more efficient for winter use....i think it kinda looks like the blizzaks

i'm leaning towards the Icebears....but for some reason, the tread patter on the icebears don't look very winterish to me...

Actually, I have both on two different vehicles (MZ3 and P5), but haven't had them through any snow yet. The sport grips do seem better in the dry though. I'll update pending the downpour tommorow.

I can't comment on the Semperit's, however we have two sets of the Vikings and for the price I thought they've performed great so far. Made a significant difference last winter.

Well, both the Semperits and the Vikings were quite good in the rain. Not much I could see between them as better or worse. Know I just need some snow.

I got the Vikings last year from Tires23. I got them installed the first big snow fall we had. I gotta say, they are great. Drastic improvement over the stockers.....I also got snows put on the wifes Infiniti, she got the Hankook ones, im not sure of the exact ones, but mine feel better.

One of my cars is running on Semperits for its second winter. Another one is trying them this year. They're not bad if you drive safely through the snow. Vikings, I've never tried.
