Is anyone else experiencing this? Whenever I go over a speed bump, I get a fairly loud squeak from the front end. There is a TSB out in the US where they replace the lower control arms in the front suspension. Does anyone know if this TSB also applies to Canadian MZ3's?

I believe that just about all the TSBs issued for U.S. vehicles are the same for Canadian vehicles.

while most TSBs are for the 'north american' mazda3s, we've seen dealers up in Canada not honouring the work.. some TSBs are Canada specific and others are US specific.. it never hurts to print the TSB in and describe the symptoms and see if you can get it done under warranty.. just make sure your VIN number falls in the range specified (if any)..

I usually get my service done at Avante and have had mixed results when mentioning US TSB's. Is there a particular service advisor there who would be best to talk to?

There is no such thing as US TSB's only, except for maybe parts of them that apply to California emmissions.

I have gone to dealerships in the past with the 3 and once the Tech's say that (give em whatever reaction that you want, just don't be too harsh ;) ), and just ask to speak to the service manager. Usually after that, the -Oscillating BS Generators- are turned off and you get serviced without a problem.

It helps if you have it in your hand, then there is no discussion, because last time I checked we were part of North America (Mazda) :D

BTW both controll arms were replaced on my 3, and it didn't resolve the problem. If you want two new black shiny controll arms then go ahead. Make sure that they perform the Toe Alignment step #3 (my fault for not being there). They didn't do that on mine and it ate up my tires prematurely. BTW the skeaks/groans weren't too much of a concern, I could only hear it over speedbumps and when driving over parking spots at like Tims or somethin (but it would be like squeak squeak squeak) at parts where there are dips where the 4 tires sit on the pavement.

Thanks for all the replies. May have to reconsider getting the TSB completed if it seems the problem won't be solved.

most likely it will be your front stab links. At my work we deal with many new cars that have faulty stab links.

This happens on the rear end of my car more than the front.

Houston,
I found out today that I have similar problem with my Mazda 3 when going over bumps. I wonder if you have replaced the lower arms as suggested by the TSB..... and the problem has fixed?

If yes, which dealership did you bring it too? Do you remeber the name of the service advicer? Thanks in advance!

I haven't but apparently platms6 has (as posted earlier in the thread), but the problem was not rectified.

Just noticed the same issue just as the temps dropped drastically the last few days. it happens on the front and rears when I'm entering my underground parking lot at home and when going over some speed bumps, the car's hitting 1 year very soon. :'(

I thinks its just regular flex in the frame and suspension. So I'm not gonna bother going to the dealer. Its nothing major.

Regular flex in the frame and suspension? Never heard of that. It doesn't sound proper. My 19 year old Mercedes E class goes over speed bumps with a better sound. Aren't cars suppose to just make that suspension sound, like air being released sound?

Hey there. I live in Winnipeg with my 08 Mazdaspeed 3. It just hit 35,000km. Since new, this car has had horrible creaking noises when going over bumps when it's colder than -5 outside. DUring the summer months there is no noise. Last spring, Mazda replaced both control arms and took apart the sway bars to lubricate inside the bushings to attempt to correct this problem, with absolutely no improvment.

General question.... with regards to TSB, does the car have to be under warranty to get the work? not sure... thanks.
