Have any other golfers happen to check out this event at your local Golf Town?
I went on the first day, right around opening and was able to pick up a Taylormade r7 460cc driver and a Callaway Forged+ sand wedge. Going into the store I was pretty sure that they would only have used equipment. The two clubs I picked up were still sealed and had their stickers on the shaft! I driver was $248 (regular price $479) and that still included the headcover and torque wrench. The sandwedge was only $48 (regular price $119).
I checked out the Kennedy Commons location and picked up a pair of Titleist wedges (56* and 60*) for $88 each (regular price $145 each). Again, both were not used.
I was planning on returning the Callaway wedge that I bought on Saturday for a refund, but I found out today on my lunch that the items were final sale, but the salesperson let me do an exchange. I left with a Taylormade Rescue Dual TP (5 wood/long iron replacement) hybrid for an extra $200 (+$48 credit)...again, unused. It regularly goes for $379.
All tolled, I saved a fair bit of money over buying new. I guess I was just lucky since lefty clubs are slim pickings and what made it even worse was that I wanted the shafts to have a stiff flex...I lucked out on all accounts.
Now, in if only I can find a left handed stainless steel Taylormade R7 3 wood with a stiff flex...hmm.
