it sucked >:(

No really it did.

Clutch was way too weird. Stalled the car twice :-\
Clutch grabbed really high. It was so weird.
I gave 'errrrrrr a couple of times. Yes the car is quick but it feels SOOOOOOOOOOO heavy compared to the 3 and the steering wasnt as nible. Actually I found the steering to be very hard.
The MazdaSpeed3 was in the show room so they didnt want anyone driving it..... yet.
I still love the GTI the best. But I want to compare the MazdaSpeed3 first since it would more of an apples to apples comparison between the two.

I'm surprised, I've read that the Speed6 isn't that bad. It's definately not perfect, but a good start for Mazda in the sports sedan segment.

is it the clutch or your granny driving that is the root of the problem? ;D

You shattap your face :D
LOL

It wasnt as 'refined' as I thought it would be. Yeah it had all toys. It was 'nice'
But it wasn't "me"
It felt like a boat - I was VERY disappointed
The sales guy said the other one he drove (a brand new one I drove a 'demo') the clutch wasnt as bad. Even my BF felt the same thing as me regarding the clutch.

If the Speed6 was made from the 6 hatch instead of the sedan, I'd be far more disappointed than I am at the fact I can't afford one. :D

I think the 6 hatch is one of the best things Mazda's come up with!

I concur with MK on this one. I took a Mazdaspeed6 out a couple months before the Mazdaspeed3 arrived and simply could not stand it.

The clutch is very off/on on the MS6. Much better on the MS3, though it still takes getting used to.

I also found it too big for my tastes. Took away from the nimble feeling I like in my cars.

Ouchies heheheh

"Nimblenes" is a relative term
MS6 3589LBS
MS3 3153LBS
DIFFERENCE = 436 POUNDS

The salesman wasn't lying about the clutch. The 2007's were adjusted so that the clutch engages low. Coincidentally it also fixes the on/off clutch feel of the 06, because the spring release becomes more linear.
I am not sure y they set the engagement point higher in the 2006's but it is correctable. You can get it to feel exactly like the 2007 setup. Just two adjustments needed under the dash. You could also get the dealer to make this adjustment.

Read this thread...changed the feel completely; here is a write-up and reviews for ppl with the 06: http://forum.mazda6club.com/index.php?showtopic=59565&st=15
There is no difference between the MS6 07 and MS3 clutch/tranny setup (minus AWD)

"Nimbleness" can be much improved with some springs. But hey, to me it feels just fine, I drove a GS with 15's stock for 2 yrs :p, and steering should be heavy ;)
This car wasn't meant to handle like an STi, in fact there are several converts on the forums that traded in their STi's because they wanted a smoother car that still had some guts.

If you stop by the dealer again, you can ask to drive an 07...hell I drove two...it doesn't have to be a demo as long as u keep it under 30KM. And don't be afraid to drive it hard...just get used to the clutch and boot it a couple...you can easily get the rear end out now that it is a bit colder...also a sprint to 100 would take away alot of doubts...instaSmile
