Just as an FYI for you folks that need to get winter tires and rims for your Mazdaspeed 3. I have just spoken with Joe at Mazda of Toronto (AKA FlipDaddio). According to Joe we can use the '07 17" alloys and they are a really good price as compared to the '06 17" alloys. Joe quoted approx $163 each and from my research that is an amazing deal my dealership wanted over $200 each for them. As you all know the +52.5mm offset is an issue so buying Mazda wheels is a safe choice to avoid any unforseen problems. www.tirerack.com now has specs on our cars and I called them and even with shipping.......buying from Joe is still cheaper...www.1010tires.ca...well they are still hesitant to sell but again why chance it when you can get the exact offset. For those of you that don't understand why offset is important, it isn't just clearance. Consider what your car may have to do. Most of the "Scrub" zones occur with turns, extra weight in the car and of course driving over dips/pot holes in the road while turning.

So my point is...get the factory 17" alloys and you are protecting your car, making your ride more reliable, safer and smoother.

Call Joe 416-642-1333 he knows his stuff!

Cheers!

Just as an FYI there are two Mazda dealerships with their parts/tire guys named Joe. The one at Gyro Mazda is really nice but I think he slightly missed on my questions about the MS3 specs where as Joe at Mazda of Toronto was dead on from the get go. So please make sure you know which Joe you are calling if you call a Mazda dealership The one at Gyro really pushed his after market wheels and Pirelli tires where I felt he was trying to get rid of stock. Joe at Mazda of Toronto who is obviously there to sell but I tell ya...his effort to find exactly what I need was awsome.

So as I said before...go see Joe at Mazda of Toronto 416-642-1333.

Cheers!

Glad you found Joe at MoT helpful...

I don't think you need to convince anyone here that he is the man to see for parts 8)

What kind of deal is $200 a piece??? Pick up some used ones for 1/2 that.

You can get tons of different 17" rims for $200 a piece, why go stock?

And please explain how Stock 17" rims "make your ride more reliable, safer and smoother."
