One of the comments in the YouTube link sums it up the best.
"Here's the thing - Rosie thinks it's fine to imitate Chinese people in a way that's been considered poor taste in the U.S. for 50 years, but let her catch someone making ANY kind of a joke about gays and Rosie immediately brands that person a homophobe. She's a two-faced mouthy b*tch. "
I'm personally not offended but I'm sure she's going to get a BBQ pork bun to the face in public.

I'm sick and tired of her sanctimonious behavior towards everything and anything. As a matter of fact I think I've about had it with Hollywood in general.

Someone steal MaBluNTO's ID and post that? This calls for an infarktion! :D
Classic Rosie! Seriously, why is she still on t.v.?

it wasnt funny, mostly cause she is not funny!
i think that is the risk with racial jokes, they are jokes when funny, but when not funny . . . they become issues to some people.
if she would have said english words with a chinese accent, it would have been better i think. (not better as in funnier, cause the only way she can be funny is if she is shutting the hell up and letting someone funny talk, but better in the not so racial way)
however, i dont' think it was meant to be offensive, and if u took offense to that, well that is a touch oversensitive!
but, its rosie, who the hell listens to her dumb ass anyways, like a tree in the woods, if no one hears her . . . does she make any sound, i guess no one heard her cause he voice was muffled . . . u know, cause she had her face burried in Muff!
haha

Well coming from a brown guy, I don't think it exactly hits home as it does for other CBCs (Canadian Born Chinese) who grew up here.
I know for myself and all the CBCs I've talked to, we were usually the only asian kid at our elementary schools growing up. Twenty years ago, there was no awareness of racism. If someone looked different and was different, you would use it against them and it would be fair game.
I was called a lot of names by caucasian kids and a lot it was "ching, chink, chong" related. I think that is why it hits home for a lot of people. The ching chong stuff is how the Western world saw China back in the 80s. If you notice, the people who are mad at Rosie in the US, aren't from China or HK or Taiwan. Quite frankly they don't give a ****. The people who are complaining are the asians who grew up in North America because they were the ones that suffere the teasing, not the fobs. It doesn't affect me today nor do I play the race card with it, but I remember that it was part of my childhood. So yeah, it hits home for a lot of people, so for someone to come out and say "Its not that offensive...you're just being sensitive" is pretty dumb actually.
Thats like me saying, when people call me a n1gg@ or p@k1, I wouldn't be offended. Of course not, I'm not black or brown.
I think Rosie meant to be funny and I don't think she was out to offend anyone. But you can have funny jokes without making them racial in anyway.

i am not disputing that you can have funny jokes without making them racial
but
you can also have funny racial jokes
Here is an example that will help you to understand my point
you can have chocolate cake, and its good,
but too bad no cheesecake for you, because some people in the world are allergic to cheese!
dont be silly, if you like cheesecake enjoy it if u can't have it, dont eat it
now if someone who only likes chocolate cake goes around poisioning all the cheesecake, well thats a problem (you dig?)
Chocolate?
Hooters?
Choco-hooters ...

Nice response!
IMHO, all four hosts of "The View" are equally ignorant and yes that includes Walters as well, I think she is the biggest hypocrite out there!
I don't know whats more irritating, them or Ben Mulroney!
Great response, its a shame it will never reach her.
