Nope, to play MP3s you will need to upgrade to the OEM 6 in dash/MP3 player ~ $800...

Best off to just buy an ipod/adapter.

check online (ebay/other folks upgrading their stock mp3 decks) and you'll get a much better deal.. and i believe that the players from the 04-05 maybe even 06s won't work in an 07.. someone correct me on this.. it's been a while

the 2007 GT comes with an aux input which allows you to connect your own mp3 player.

downsides i guess are that the controls on the steering wheel won't work (only the controls on the mp3 player itself) and you have to get the 3.5mm to 3.5 mm cord from like a radio shack place. the one i saw was around $20...i didn't buy it cuz i'm hoping to find a better deal.

Hey Guys, I just picked up my 2007 Mazda 3 GT Hatch yesterday. I have the 6 cd changer as well as the aux port for my ipod, however, I tried putting an mp3 cd into my car but I didn't hear any music. The screen was showing that the cd was playing but there was no music. Does anyone know why I wasn't hearing anything, or if my cd player plays mp3s or not? Also, I do have the luxury trim package.

That happens when your deck doesn't play MP3s, you've got one with 6 Cd changer not the one with MP3 player. :(

According to Owner's Manual, if your player supports MP3, the logo will be indicated on the top left of where you put the CD in. If no logo, no MP3.

I highly doubt it. The believe the actual HU (<- is that the right term?) hardware is different.

i want to be able to play mp3 cd's so badly! maybe reduce the amount of cd's in my car too, is there anyway other than getting an mp3 deck or the 6 disk one that will work...btw i have a 06 sport gt

Just get an Audi Phatbox with 10GB cartridge and hack it with Mazda firmware. ~$200. Works like a CD changer, only with 1,000's of songs. And you can control it with the steering wheel controls.
