I've noticed over the last couple of days that my clutch pedal, when being released, has been taking longer to go back to its original position... it is extremely noticeable and annoying.
I have let my car heat up before driving it and it still "sticks". My mum also drives a standard Mazda and her clutch, even when the car is cold, does not "stick"
Does anyone else have this problem?? Should I bother takin it to Mazda to get it checked out??

I would get that looked at. A sticking clutch is dangerous.

Mine does the same as well when it is cold out , the colder it gets the worse it gets. Post back when you have it checked out ,I will follow your lead.

I have a similar problem, but my car is parked outside 24/7. Mine's a litto bit sticky but I agree it's annoying.
My gears also don't shift that well too.

Might be due to the cold weather. Was all fine before it got cold out,?? Or does the clutch and shifting get easier as the car warms up..

I normally park my car in the garage (house, not condo) but once or twice a week I do park uncovered, outdoors. Neither situations will yield a "sticky" clutch on my car.

Sounds like clutch pedal arm assembly not having enough lube?

No matter, call up Mazda of Toronto! ;)

My clutch is a little sticky if the car is -12C or lower. It quickly loosens up though after a minute or so. Same with the shifter.

When it first happened even when my car was warm it would "stick". I brought it in and a mechanic came for a test drive and it wasn't doin it anymore. He told me that he wasnt sure what the cause was and it could be because of the extreme cold we had a couple of weeks ago and to bring it back when it starts to "stick" again, but it doesnt seem to be nearly as bad as it was even during this week... which has been pretty cold. The mechanic also said that it was possible that when the temperature suddenly drops moisture can get into the housing for the clutch... but is unlikely.

I have the same problem with my Mazda 5. As soon as temperature drops to -15 I get that sticky clutch feeling. The dealer checked the clutch and didn't find anything wrong with it. But as soon as I started to use block heater overnight the problem practically disappeared fro some reason. My friend who drives Honda Accord said he has the same problem.
