Hey,
I just got HIDs from Devin and have a question about the HID signal wire that is tapped into from the front turn signal lights. Is this wire giving a 12V signal when the headlights are on, and 0V when they are off?

This is what I want to do. I have the independent fog mod, so I was going to put the signal wire for the fogs through another NC relay that is triggered by the signal wire from the turn signals. I'd leave the fog light switch to on, so they would come on when there are no headlights, and automatically turn off when the headlights come on. The reason for this is, that I don't want to leave the fogs on all the time, and I'd forget to turn them on during the day, and off at night. This way, it would all be automatic, and hopefully prevent the bubbling of the fog light housing from the heat generated from leaving them on all the time.

Hope my explaination makes sense.

Can't you just turn the fog lamp switch off? That's what I do.

I don't have much experience with electrical systems so I won't be able to answer your immediate question but I'm a little confused.
You mention that you forget to turn them (the fogs) on during the day and off at night but don't your fogs turn on and off automatically even with the independent fog mod? My independent fogs were done by LockDown so maybe it's different but I can keep the switch at ON and it will turn on while car is running and turn off automatically when car is off. They won't turn off when the headlights come on though (which is what you are looking to do).

I could do that, but the problem is that I would forget to turn them off. I've read that the grey ring around the fog light housing starts to bubble b/c people leave the fog lights on all the time. I'm trying to avoid that.

What I wanted to do was to leave the fog switch to ON position at all times. Instead of connecting this fog light signal wire directly to the fog relay, I run this through another relay that is controlled by the amber light signal used to turn on the HIDs. So, when that signal is off, the "new" relay allows the fog signal through and turns on the fog lights. When the headlight signal is on, the "new" relay opens and the fog light signal is cut.

Sorry for the confusion, my fog lights do exactly the same thing as yours, come on when the car is running, and turns off when the car is shut off, if the switch is in the ON position.
I just don't want the fog lights to be on when the headlights are on.

My understanding was that the "bubbling" happens only with after-market bulbs (ie. Nokya) which runs at a much higher wattage (Nokya Arctic whites run at 100W) causing excess heating. If you're running stock bulbs (I believe stock is 55W) then you should be okay for day-to-day use.

Hmmm, interesting. I might just leave then on for now, and see. I wouldn't mind using the LED bulbs that Devin had a prototype for if the output is good enough for DRLs. Then I'd just leave them on all the time w/out any concerns about it.
