View Full Version : Hatch/Trunk + snow/ice = stupid

When snow accumulates in the crack where the hatch hinges, it interferes with the hatch. And if it were to freeze into ice, that would make it worse I'm sure. I'm concerned that it could actually damage/bend the hatch as it opens. Anyone have any damage caused by this?

No damage but I know what you mean. I was wondering about that too once.

Been there ... despite clearing all the snow off the top of the car, there were still ice patches and when I eventually had to open the hatch (remember that ice "storm" we had a couple Saturdays ago?) I just heard crackling. Luckily it was thin ice but what if!

sedans have a similar problem! snow and ice get down into the channels along the trunk, especially in around the hinges...it has made for some hairy moments...
