Hi,
I will be getting my M3 next week. Since there is still a higher chance that might snow later on here in NB, I am thinking to get a set of 205/55R16 winter tires and new alloy wheels for my M3. Do you guys think Chrome finish will look nice on a pearl whit hatch back? Anybody has a pic?
Thanks.

First off, this should probably be posted in the BMW subforum. Secondly, can you even fit 16's over the brakes of an M3??

If you're talking about a Mz3 then I think chrome will look nice on the pearl white, but I also think that winter will take a nasty toll on chrome over time. In the long run, I think gunmetal wheels would be a wicked look and hold up much better to the elements.

Im pretty certain he was talking about a Mazda (M) 3.... Personally, I havent seen any MZ3 with chrome that looked good... But when you talk about rims.... your venturing into the highest personal preference buy that there is.... You get what YOU like.... not what everyone else likes. There are sooooooo many options from each price point. Bottom line... buy what you like and enjoy!

Ultimately, it's your choice, but I saw an 06 civic the other day with 18 inch chromes, and it was practically butchered from all the snow. I think it would be wise for you to wait til summer if you want to keep them "blingy", if that is what you are looking for.
Why do you think so many people switch to snow tires & steelies in the winter? To preserve them, right? Plus, if you have chromes, it may be hard for you to find GOOD suitable snow tires.
Once again, it's your choice, but I just felt like giving my 2.5 cents! ;)

Like I said earlier.. im not a chrome fan on a sport compact..... If you had a 300C or something, then yeah..... But sport compacts just dont look good with chrome in my eye...... my 2.6 cent (beat it MGM) lol

Gotta say I like the FUTURA 5 - CHROME best out of the three...
Every car can stand a little bit o bling, if done tastefully.
Here is a black car with chrome if it helps you. I know you want white. I saved this pics years ago.

Just get the right profile tire, and these would look good on your 3 I would go less rubber more rim for those..

What will be the correct offset of the rim for Mz3? 40?42?48?

I like the Phantoms, they remind me of old Porsche rims, very similar anyways.
Chrome though might be a little much on white. The site mentions "many different finishs" so maybe the same rims but polished aluminum or maybe carbon grey! Like everyone says its altimately up to what 'you' like.

I'm not really a fan of any of those but as everyone said, personal prefrence. I've been looking for rims for the better part of a year and I still can't decide on which ones to get. Try going to sites like www.tirerack.com (http://www.tirerack.com) so you can see what the rims sort of look like on your car. Do some photoshoping and such.
Depending on your drop (if your car is lowered) you can venture up to a 42mm offset. The stock offset is 52.5mm. Keep in mind that rubbing will not just be on the part of offset, but rim and tire width. In my searches I'm looking for rims with minimum 42mm offset and a 7.5" wide rim to fit 225mm tires.
Hope that helps, good luck and happy shopping!

Chrome rims on White will look great. The Chrome will make the car "Jump".
Aluminum finish rims on my Mustang looked nice but the Chrome rims made it a head turner.
blackman - that car looks AWESOME! Almost looks "Old School"
Ha ha... Not my car. Does look nice tho eh!

I've heard bad things about RTX's.. Apparently they bend like butter.
But yes - please do Chrome/Polished on white. Everybody does Bronze/Black. I think there's way too much of it.
