View Full Version : Opinions Wanted (56k, don't watch the clock)

Well after many months of trying to decide on what rims I want I think I've settled on the set. I originally wanted black spoked rims but having a black car the rims would look smaller, which is pointless considering i want to up the size. I've also considered weight, I don't want a 30lb rim, and I love lips! So I've settled on the ASA AR2. This rim is 18" in diameter and 7.5" wide. Its a BBS style rim, its fairly light. The face is machined with a polished lip and the sides of the spokes (here's why I like them) are painted a dark gray which makes the spokes look smaller and thinner.

So I'm looking for opinions, yay or nay.

Lol, Mr. E39 (:banhim )

The rim picture you posted are Asanti rims, not Lexani... g g g g g g g unit :chuckle

Did you know that if you buy those rims the company gives you a Bentley GT for free?

Plus, where would I get a million dollars?

Maybe in this thread: http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=16572&highlight=million

They are nice rims. Clean looking yet still have that look this way quality. I say go for it but at the same ime if you need peoples opinion...are these really the ones you want as rims I think are a personal thing and who cares what everyone thinks looks good.

Well its Anthracite or whatever that colour is. I think it's dark enough, the pictures I photoshopped are from other cars with the rims, and in most pictures it looks dark enough.

I appreciate everyone's opinion. If no one would have made an opinion I never would have conluded that black spoked rims look smaller on a black car.

I want everyone's opinion from this forum, because they all (pretty much) have Mazda's 3s and can have an honest opinion on how the cars look on the car.

Hey 3GFX,
I'm not really feeling those rims. They look nice by themselves but I'm not really feeling them on the 3.

6 / 6 at this point...I'm kinda happy at this point. Its like BMWs new designs, you love em or hate em, but that's what makes them beautifully classic.

I say Nay. I don't like rims that buldge out in general, and these look misplaced. I don't like the way they flow with the rest of the car..

Ok, here were some other considerations that I've decided not to go with:

I orginally wanted to do Mazda 6 GT rims, but they are to narrow (for my taste) to fit a 225 tire, and I would also have to find a spacer and I'm not keen on that idea.

My other choices were black spokes with a machined lip, but as I said, they made the rim look smaller and I don't like the styles in chrome or silver:

Tenzo Passion 5 (aka Ikon GT-5 (Broli's rims))

For a while my heart was set on these:

Keep the votes and opinions coming guys, I won't be looking for a set for at least four months. I'm open to sugestions pending photoshops.

Well boys and girls, out of sheer luck I've settled (and those are poor words) on the sexiest pair of rims ever. I appreciate everyone's help in this poll. I'm not going to tell anyone or show anyone these rims until they are on the car, but I am super duper excited. The gf even got excited (she's not always happy when I make random stops at tuning shops). Now all I need is the money I will hopefull get it all together for MOM, I hope.

Let the job hunt for summer continue!
