First off, this is a great site with chock full of awesome info. But the point of my post now isn't to praise, but I was hoping if someone could point me in a direction of getting some good all-season tires for the 3 with 16" rims.
Why all-season? First off, I've had the car for 1.5 years and in those 1.5 years I've driven over 65,000km (yup I commute a LOT), and already the tires are toast. Also having 2 sets of tires (winter and summer), just isn't cost efficient for me since I drive so damn much, not to mention the lack of space I have since I love in a townhouse condo.
Just tonite as you all know I thankfully braved the storm and managed to inch myself up the massive Yonge St. south hill just after York Mills. So as I finally came home, I realized that the tread pattern was next to nothing, and by nothing, I mean like a few mm's higher than the bottom of a coin sitting inside the tread. Yes it's VERY stupid of me, but I know that already :)
So, could someone please point to a good set of all-seasons that'll do me well in winter and be good enough for daily grind driving in the summer?
Thanks everyone in advance and I hope to be able to contribute more in future, but in the meantime I'm in need of some help for tire selections! :)

wow...what a conducive thread. I'm sorry I did that, but blame the city more than I, because the city should've cleaned up the white crap before drivers set foot in their car..

What do you expect? For there to be a plow on every street just waiting for it to snow?
+1 with Weasel's comment. It should be law in Ontario to have to use winter tires in the winter.
2 imbeciles tonight with all-seasons nearly slid into me - one of which could not make it up a hill and started sliding sideways as I passed (with my awesome Pirelli Winter Carving tires!).
BTW - The only all-season meat that I can think of is,

I felt a little bad after typing what I did. Maybe I was just still pissy for having had to deal with idiots for 4 hours.
After your response though, I stand by what I said.

first off this is no spam and secondly there are people who drive like idiots whether or not they have winter tires or not!
this is by far the most unwelcoming and rude response I've ever seen on any car forum. I'm sorry that I can't afford the luxury of space you all seem to have where you can run a set of summer/winter tires. Not to mention, I doubt many of you even drive half as much as I do.
from being an early user of the Toronto Civic Club, to a Club Si user as well, you guys have shown nothing but uselessness and lack of knowledge toward any sort of automotive prowess.
In any case, I thought coming here was a great idea, I thought you guys could answer some questions, but alas I found neither, and instead I found trolls posting because they're too immature and pissed off at the world since everyone not is like them.
good day.

Seriously...this guys is right! He came here to post to get some opinoins and suggestions. You guys just come right up to him telling him he's one of those cheap idiots without winter tires.
This is the stuff that shouldn't be on this board. If you have something to sya about people not having winter tires, then by all means start a new thread or rant it somewhere else instead of jacking other members thread.
my 2 cents

We went through this earlier boys in another thread with a mod calling someone names and being mean. Welcome the new fella to the forum. I don't run winters either. I don't have any problems. Go ahead call me names too.

Zerogun, let me first appologize for the negative experience you recieved here. Let me also applaud you for keeping your cool and not engaging in a flame war.
The torontomazda3 club encourages new members to post and to ask serious questions (after searching of course).
Thanks Pearly, for keeping the thread civil.
this sort of thread jacking in unacceptable and will not be tolerated. It doesn't matter how much you disagree with others on this board and it doesn't matter how rough a day you had. All members will be treated with respect!
This is an official warning.

That said, i know you are looking for a set of good all seasons, because of economic and space reasons. nonetheless, i want to point out that we have a number of sponsors who can get you a great price on winter and summer tires, if you could find the space to store them. Just something to look at.
Drive Safe!
Lets keep this thread on topic, and hear some suggestions for good all seasons.

Ignore the two Jbody idiots...if Weasel and Scarborough were running the country, they'll have you jailed and executed just like the chinese government.
As for the 4 hour drive comment. I saw just as many cars WITH snow tires that were driving like IDIOTS because they thought they could plow through the snow with their snow tires. What's your point?
If anyone should get out this forum...it might be the a$$hole with the fugly sunfire.
zerogun, you'll find many all season tires that will do the job. My friends have the Goodyear Triple Tread and they are happy with it. You're still better off with a dedicated set of winters but sometimes we all can't afford $800 for an extra set of winters. Thank goodness, thats not a crime in this country.
