Ok..since i decided which set of rims i'm getting and now its time for me to decide which set of tires to go with them. I'm plannign to track my car as well so i want something that i can track and street use. My budget is $700,
I was aiming for Hankook RS2s but they went up in prices from $720 to $800.
Thank you for looking and for those who contributes.
Do you care about tread rating?

those falkens stick like flies to shit in the dry. in the wet, from what i've read on the miata forums, they are a marked improvement over the model they replaced.
have you looked at the Kumho SPT? similar tread pattern to the hankooks but not as grippy and may not hold up as well at the track.

I owned the RS2's GREAT TIRES.. i liked then better then the Azensis (which i owned as well).
They were great in the rain (there are better rain tires, but these never gave me problems), SUPER handling, fairly quiet on the road... and they are "silent" on hard cornering or drifting.
Highly recommended!
I raced a full season on these and still had tons of tread left.
I've heard good things about the RT-615's (i had the previous gen of these). I'd buy which ever one is cheaper, but would probably lean towards the hankooks.
I had them on this car:

Good luck,

^^^^ Thats what i've heard from a few friends. I guess if i can get them within $750 then i'd get it. But anything more then that, its a little too much for me.
any other options?

ECSTA MX, SPT or Supra.
Kumho makes great tires as well. probably cheaper, but they won't have the crazy grip of the rs2's or the rt-615's.
For a GOOD street tire, where you don't need ultimate grip (ie. your not racing timed events), go for Kuhmo
also Tires23 has some good prices on tires, check the pre summer sale post. They look pretty good, and about 1/2 the cost of the hankooks.

brokenfinn makes a good point...try the Fierce UHP that tires23 is giving away at 430 installed :)
if they don't hold up at the track, you can get another set ... 2 fierce UHP for the price of 1 hankook ;)
Falken RT-615s are great if you don't mind the road noise and relatively stiff ride. They hold up very well on the track, and they don't overheat as easily most max performance summers. I bought my second set last summer and, at the time, they were cheaper than the Hankook RS-2s, though I can't recall the exact amount I paid for them (it was somewhere in the region of $700).
Do keep in mind that they don't last very long though - I went through 1.5 sets last season. Granted, I drive about 40000km/year and the tires saw their fair share of track days.

Well since i do'nt drive that much with my car, i guess 615 will be a choice. I'll still have to see how much RS2s are this year.

Fuzion ZRi's are fairly cheap. IIRC, the price is great, dry grip is good, but heavy and noisy.
UHP are Generals right? Heard that those are great value.
UHP stand for Ultra High Performance.

If I had the money I'd personally take the 615s

for track I think u should use R compound tires, cause it's a big different compare with street tires

The Kumho SPTs are some really good tires with decent treadwar, as is the Yokohama ES100.

RT-615 is definitely the best choice for street/track.
215/45/17 $780/set
tax and installation included.

Kumho SPTs and General Exclaim UHP are probably the best bang for buck
I had Yoko Es100 and think the treadwear sucks.
If money is not the issues try the ADVAN AD07.
