Okay so I've been having ongoing issues with my 2nd gear
It felt like I was hitting something and when i would shift sometimes it felt like a grinding feel. I know what griding gears is my man has a MK2 VW LOL - this is not it. It doesnt make any noise

So for the last week or so 2nd gear started to feel really shitty. I thought it was because of the cold weather at first but it was pretty nice last week. Everytime I said something at the dealership they always advised me to change my transmission oil and see where it goes. Well.. I did that. To Redline MTL. Problem still persisted. I didnt feel any difference.
Long story short... 2nd gear is ****ed. Sometimes it has a REALLY hard time going in.

Last week I was making a left onto Dixie and it wouldnt get into gear. Very scary situation when you're at an intersection with a semi coming at you

WTF
now what?
Car has 97,xxx km - power train warranty applies?

I baby the car and yes I know how to drive manual transmission
I've mentioned this issue before so its on my file with my dealership

Is it possible a syncro is gone already?

Yes and you should bring it in soon. The power train warranty is 5 years or 100000km

I forgot to mention that last week it popped out of 2nd gear as well... it was the weirdest feeling
I just read M3Forums and this seems to be like a big time issue and I guess I am lucky its happening at 97,xxx km because some people are reporting this happening at like 15,000 miles

Were you using Mazda's tranny oil before you changed it?
Is this the first time you changed the oil?
Did you notice any debris when you drained the oil?

BTW:
And you used Redline MTL?
MTL is 70W80 GL-4 Gear Oil

Mazda technical data:
Manual Transaxel type: F35M-R
Grade: API Service GL-4 or GL-5
Viscosity (All Season): SAE 75W-90
Viscosity (Above 10C): SAE 80W-90

I used MT-90 which is 75W90 GL-4 Gear Oil that’s slightly heavier than MTL.

Take it into dealer and get it fixed before warranty ends.

no, your lucky cuz it's under 100,000km (warranty) that would have sucked if it happened 20,000km from now

Not trying to thread crap here... but... Just want to understand this...

Really? I thought it was 3 yr 80,000km. What falls under power train? Maybe a stupid question but when I was last in for my engine light on they said it was off warranty as it was 3 years 1 month & 83,000 km.

Power train i believe falls with engine and transmission IIRC.
the 3year/80000km is bumper to bumper, ie, shocks, springs, exhaust, stereo, deforming seats, etc....

As for the oil issues....I highly dought it,... you've done your maintenance and within the scheduled period, they can't penalize you for that!
Plus the redline is superior to the original oem product they had in there.
As for the the MAP xtended warranty suggested...I wonder if you would still qualify, (with your mileage) maybe Jeff can chime in.

Well... surprise surprise
They couldnt duplicate the problem

No worries
Im gonna get a loaner this coming week so the car can be kept over night and it can be checked out fresh first thing in the morning when the car hasnt been driven all day (like it was on Friday)

So far the dealership has been handling this without any problems and appear to be more than willing to diagnose it. They checked alot of other potential things like engine mounts but those have been replaced and even ended up washing my car (Thanks Alex & Paulette @Ontario Mazda)
