Lately, I've been noticing that when the car is warm and idling at ~650 rpm, the car seems to shake a bit more that I remember it. I know it's not the MAF, because the CEL would be on, and it would go RPM hunting. It's stable at 650 and not hunting. When the heat is on, it feels a bit harder.

Suggestions?

I also am experiencing significantly more vibration than before. Although my circumstances and symptoms are different. My vibration is really noticeable when I'm on the highway cruising at any speed above 105 km/hr and trying to keep the speed constant. The car doesn't pull left/right, but the steering wheel really deflects/vibrates 2-3 degrees to either side and at a rapid rate.

Any diagnoses/opinions. I keep trying to get out to the dealer to have it looked at, but every time I have a spare moment, it's been snowing/freezing rain etc. And they won't take it for a test drive in those conditions.

TIA

Oh, I've got an 06 Sport GT

Have you installed new tires on your wheels, Pariah? They might be out of balance.

I'm running winters on steelies, same ones I had on last winter and there wasn't this vibration last winter. I was getting a the same kind of vib with the stock tires/rims before I mounted the snows for this winter. This started to happen last October-ish. I think the vibs have been getting worse as time goes by.

Maybe I should invest in getting an alignment... But I wasn't sure and wanted some other opinions.

Alignment would definately help.

went to MoT, and they said nothing is wrong......those c***s, no offence to anyone that isn't a mechanic there.

im getting the same vibrations at idle in drive and even more so when just barley creeping foward (ATX). much more so than last year. i went to the dealership (burlington mazda) and they toth me that mazda canada retracted the tsb for the engine mounts and they would no longer do them under warrenty.

......they would no longer do them under warrenty.

the thing is i told them that its the engine mount that needs replacing. they without bothering to look at the mount said there is no problem. but they told me that if its the engine mount they will replace it.

I would ask them to prove it to me
Or just call Mazda Canada yourself

Burlington Mazda is super shady!

yeah ive kinda gotten that impression as everything there is very "closed door". but when i spole to chris (service mgr) about the wrinkles and wear in my side bolsters and the clacking windows i got a "no prob were going to order up a new seat fr you and take care of the windows. allthough for customer service they are really good with calling when done or when parts come in and for shuttle service.

so far though out of the 3 dealerships i have dealt with they have been one of the best. ajax mazda has been horrible as far as service dept. they just kept feeding me lines like i had no right to go in and suggest what was wrong and as a place to start. after 4-5 visits later (and me suggesting that its the strut mounts because of the conditions that the noise would happen)and a scratched rim they finally replaced the upper strut mounts and admitteded there was a revision. regular service was allright, my car was washed after an oil change (usually dirtier cause they dont dry) but they were bad at phoningh to let me know its done.

mountain mazda ive only been to for oil changes and they have been really goos esp that i would just show up (usually between classes) and they woud fint me in so i could wait there for it to be done. one note about mtn maz though is that they will try and soak you for parts that you dont need. this could be bad for people that arent as car saavy and will just bobble head to them and open their wallets. when they just received one of the first m3s's their sales staff didnt seem too interested to talk about it even though the sales floor had no other customers.

I have been having bad shakes for a while. Whenever I am in drive and stopped at a red light. I have been bitching to mazda about it for ages now. They have done two software updates to the computer and still no help. Now the car is out of warrenty and I know that they are going to give me a hard time with fixing it.

Hmmm... My aftermarket mount causes mild vibrations at idle by design, so I don't know if I would recognize any of the symptoms of bad mounts.

After 5000 miles, I am joining this clib to. Bad vibrations when Hot Temps. When start and or put on reverse. Scary sound and feeling on the shifter. Dealer trieed to tell me that it was the Catback smacking on the back. I told them that it was not the same sound, so I had to show them. Finally I got to show them how much the engine vibrated on start and the mad rattle it made on reverse. They are replacing all 3 mounts. Now, that was the cool part. When they first took my car to check it, they scratch one of my wheels. Bastards, I had no proof they did it, so I am f%#$ed.

Anyone here have a 2007? I hope this issue won't affect me.

I take the guess that you did not see my signature banner!!LOL
My is a 2007...My 2005 did not have this issue. I had the same add ons and competed on AUTO-X. The only thing I could think of that made a diference is the suspention. Sportlines gives less body movement, making the TorQUe Mount take even more stress when shifting...

Haha. Sorry. I can barely read the bottom of your banner.
