Hey guys,

I was trying to figure out what the J-Spec is for the Mazda 3 GT. I know it's a 2.3L, but I'm looking for the actual engine type/ code. (for example: D16Y7 for certain Civic Si's) I've been searching through the threads and tried google, but no luck so far.....

Any ideas?

help is much appreciated...... :)

UPDATED

LF-DE for the 2.0L

L3-VE for the 2.3L which applies to the Mazda 3 and the Mazda 6

Although I don't think this is what you're really looking for. But I think the Chasis code would translate to what the engine would be. From there you might be able to find out the numbers you want.

Is the wikipedia accurate? It says the first mazda 3 rolled off the assembly line December 8th 2003.

My build date on the badge inside my door jam says 10/03.

According to the Mazda 3 workshop manual:

2.3L engine = L3
2.0L engine = LF

Hmm, then it's obviously wrong. Create a Wikipedia account and correct it. :)
