P0803 1-4 Up Shift (Skip Shift) Solenoid Control Circuit Malfunction??

A friend of mine with a 3 keeps getting a check engine light when we pull the Codes we get "P0803 1-4 Up Shift (Skip Shift) Solenoid Control Circuit Malfunction" is this a major problem with the Tranny or just Wiring?

could be a number or things, loose wire, stuck solenoid, dead solenoid, trapped air, etc....

if its a loose wire its easiest to check connections by dropping the tranny pan as all the wires are pretty much right there. it can also be the wiring harness that plugs into the tranny. i suggest checking this first as its the easiest and least involved. be sure to give the connector a good spray with electronic contact cleaner as well.

but unless its one of the very early purchased 04's i say just have the dealer replace/ fix it since it will still be under its 3yr comprehensive.
