View Full Version : 3rd gear vibration.

Nothing serious, as the clutch is obviously engaged and the car sounds fine, but sometimes (not always) when I shift into 3rd, there's a lot of vibration in the actual shifter. It's seated properly, and the shift is smooth, but if I put any pressure on the shift knob laterally, it vibrates. I don't notice this in any other gear. Any ideas what might be causing it, or if it's serious enough to get it looked at?

Looked on the other forum, seems to be normal. Just paranoid I guess!

Phew....omg I noticed the same thing on the weekend. Holy thanks for that.
im pretty sure my car does that too, and i just got it, it only has 160 km on it, what happens is if you put a bit of pressure on the stick to like say one side when in gear it vibrates very little, but if you dont touch it its all okay

You should never have your hand on the shifter if you're not shifting. Failing that, you shouldn't apply pressure on it while it is in gear. If it still does weird stuff and you're not touching it, then perhaps take it in. :)
