hey guys, anyone else have this problem with their 3? I know I'm a lurker here and I apologize for my lack of involvement in this forum, but I would be grateful to know if I'm doomed to replace bulbs every 2-3 months from now on?
The stock bulbs lasted me a good 1 1/4, and then the aftermarkets lasted only 2-3 months. Mind you this is 'only' occurring on the driver side and not the passenger side. No other mods, bone stock GT minus the GFX package. Thanks a million guys.

Mine used to burn through bulbs fast too. After my 3rd set I switched to HID's and I have not had one burn out on me yet :) and they have been installed for a year now. I am glad I switched. They silver stars were around $50 bucks a set.

It's extremely important that you not touch the bulbs when you're changing them. Did you know this? If not, it might explain the problem.

Yup, I'm absolutely aware of not touching the bulbs.

Have you noticed any condensation in the headlight housings at all? Have you made sure your bulbs are being properly clipped in? A few other possible causes... Other than those two and what WW suggested..... I cant think of anything else. Personally HID's are the best and most usefull mod I have done to my car! Should really consider it!
I don't know what the case is for zerogun (http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/member.php?u=2522) but I do know that in my case... I didn't touch the bulbs or have water in the housing. I did find that one time it stopped working when the garage (an auto body place) shut the hood by just letting it drop from the top. I guess the impact damaged the bulb.

I bought a set of Excelite "HID match" halogen headlight bulbs from Devin. One of them burned out after a few months, but the good thing is they come with a 2-year full replacment warranty. Devin sent me a new bulb, no questions asked, and it has been working great ever since I put the new one in.

interesting....I don't often open my hood, but the bulb in question has the clip properly seated and there is no condensation whatsoever. It just burns out all of a sudden. I'm suspecting there might be a flaw in the electrical system where the power spikes.
I'm contemplating at this point in time in purchasing a voltage stabilizer or possibly upgrading the grounding of the car.
HID is a wonderful option, though I can't really justify spending so much on headlights anymore :p Maybe back in the day when I had little to no obligations in life hahah
