clanking noise

Hey guys just wondering if anyone else is having this problem when i take off in 1st gear then shift to 2nd i hear a clanking noise coming from the engine makes the car sound like its diesel any idea what this could be?

Are you shifting at too low an RPM? If the engine is labouring, it will make that diesel-like noise.

Im shifting at 3 grand..

The second i shift to second its there then it goes away shift to third comes back then goes away
