Mazda3 Sport in Electric Blue. I love it so much already!!! Got it in manual, so driving to work today was a bit of an adventure (although not nearly as hard as I thought it'd be)

Did you stall it in the middle of any intersections? :chuckle
I shouldn't laugh cause I would probably do exactly that.
Congrats on the car and welcome to the electric blue mica club!

Congrats man! There's a thread here somewhere with all sorts of great pointers on learning to drive a manual.

It becomes second nature after a while. I clutch all the time when driving my wife's automatic.

Glad to here that everything worked out for you.
Congrats on your new ride. As for the 5 speed, I don't think you could learn on an easier car.

Thanks guys! I managed to stall it only 3 times on my way to work (and that was after practicing for about an hour last night)...none of the stalls were in the middle of an intersection...and I reverse parked my car no problem (ok, I rode the clutch a bit).
I'll post some pictures when I take them. As for mods...none for this year, I just want to enjoy the car as Mazda wanted me to...next year is another story though :chuckle

Congrats on your new addition....I especialy like the colour (although I can tell you it ain't easy to keep clean!) You'll get the hang of the clutch soon enough then it'll be like learning to ride a bike. My last 3 cars were automatics so it was great to get back to the manual even though my wife let me drive her Miata occasionally (usually after I washed and waxed it, so about 2-3 times a year).
Enjoy!

You are brave to just jump in and go to work without being comfortable with a standard!! I'm impressed tho. It's just a matter of practicing and getting used to it. Don't get into bad habits like riding the clutch. Make sure you learn to downshift when slowing down to save your brakes. Enjoy the new ride!
