hmm..
brought my car to the dealer 2 weeks ago..

stanley calls me back...asking me if i had a front end accident...WTH...no way.

i babie my car to the max tell him ...

well he goes on explaining that the tech told him he suspect that i had an accident and refuses to do any warrenty work on my car until this was figured out.

i rush to the dealer to find out what was going on and why he believes that my car has been in a accident. mind you my car was bought brand new from a mazda dealer..with 3km on the odo when i picked the car up.

now get to the dealer, tech comes out to speak with me...tell me that my rad has a yellow sticker on it that says part # i believe and "Made in korea"

thats why he thought i had a accident and put in a non oem rad.

anyways....he goes on telling me he has check 4-5 mazda3s same yr and everything...all don't have that sticker...

and stanley also made sure that the car should all use japanese parts

made me worry

jeff....hope you can chime in on this!!

Is there any record of damage that happens in transit requiring the dealer to repair it before the PDI?

Yeah, I've seen two Escalades kissing hard over every bump on one of those car transport trucks (the damage was pretty bad cuz those things are boaty and just bounce back and forth)... I honked a couple of times beside the guy, but he didn't seem interested...

Only thing I can suggest is when you are in the area, stop by so I can take a peek, and a couple of pics...

also I can run a warranty claim inquiry to see what claims have gone through...

hmmm.

Would that show stuff that was done before the car was sold and PDI'd?

It may, only if it was claimed as a warranty item.

Well... if the car came off the truck with damage, then it would get claimed as a warranty item, right?

But if some clod at the dealership drove it into a wall, then it wouldn't be covered, right? So then it would be in their best interest to fix it with some cheap parts and keep it all hush hush, right?

Dude, I really hope nothing untoward has happened to your car.

I would imagine that if it was a frontal impact enough to warrant a radiator replacement that it would have been hard enough to damage the bumper, grille, and deployed the air bags.
There must be another good explanation for this.....

what are u getting done under warranty ???

just want to know why they wont fix it even if the car was in accident ...

If the parts used to repair an accident aren't OEM why would the dealer replace them under warranty??? (I know this isn't the case for the OP)

You should be asking how in the world did the non OEM parts get on the car in the first place?

Wild Weasel

If you get in an accident and the repairs aren't done by a Mazda dealer, then anything done as part of the repair is no longer under warranty.

Do you think it should be?

MPS

if they used Mazda OEM parts then why not

Wild Weasel
06-06-2007, 11:16 AM
How can they be sure the parts were installed properly?

And in this case, it would appear that OEM parts weren't used.

KenYork

but it would tell you it was fixed or not.. and if there are no details why the rad is in there. Then with the proof from the used vehicle sale package, you can request an inquiry from Mazda Canada.

UVIP doesn't have any service history on it.

you're thinking of something like CarProof (Canadian) (https://www.carproof.com/Default.asp) or a CarFax (which gets dumps of data every so often)

These are linked with insurance claims, IIRC.

Mazda's system would show any parts replaced etc.. unless they were paid for by someone else..
