You guys recommend any good campsites? I'm goin next month and im loking at lake st. peter in the Bancroft area. Anybody been there?
Last year I went with a bunch of friends to a place called "Country Camping" in Port Burwell. It was good times. Check it out as the owners were pretty lenient with things.

We usually go camping in provincial campgrounds like Algonquin. But you need to book the site like 5 months in advance.

Depends if you like car camping or back cournty camping. I usually make a trip up to the Massassauga PP in Parry Sound where its water access only camping.

If you are going with girls, make sure where ever you go has washrooms/showers.
or things get hairy... literally.

If your going to the Bancroft area, I have been to 2 different parks around there....Silent lake which is SW of Bancroft and Bon Echo, ESE of Bancroft. I have stayed at both and enjoyed them equally. Bon Echo has some nice scenery, as it is surrounded on one side by cliffs. Silent Lake is a great spot for hiking and /or biking. The other nice thing about it is that there are no motor boats allowed and so canoeing only on the lake. BTW not sure your age group, but I am 30 and friends in the late 20's , we like to get our drink on while camping, not crazy smash stuff up drunk, but enjoy ourselves drinking and found that the sites at Silent Lake were a bit more secluded and allowed for that without being a nussance to the other campers.
Hope this helps, I have been to many other campgrounds, but these are the 2 best I can think of that are close by to Bancroft.

I'm pretty sure they both have canoe rentals, but I have only rented the ones at Silent Lake, if you check the links on my post there should be a services link and should tell you what rentals and stuff they provide.

Not sure why the links don't work, they work fine for me, maybe your work firewall or something. www.ontarioparks.ca (http://www.ontarioparks.ca) once you are at the main page you select park locator then on the top drop down menu just select the park you are interested. Or about half way down the page you can use the map of ontario option and google maps will pop up with all the parks in ontario, just zoom in on the area and select the park you want. Its a great tool for planning.

I really like Grundy lake provincial park. An hour north of Pary Sound and is very clean. Good size camp sites and most of them are pretty private. French river is located just 15 minutes away, so if you're really into fishing then i highly recommend it. They also have a number of trails you can walk and the lake is very clean (no motor boats allowed). my friend last year cought a really nice pike last year from Grundy Lake.

Killarney is amazing. Probably one of the nicest PPs. I have never stayed there, but been in it more times than I can count, since my cottage is about 15mins away. Its worth the drive :)

It's per site. Weekend just cost me $27.75 per day at Sibbald Point for non-electric. No reservation fee.
If you reserve then it's an extra one time charge of $12 per site for that reservation. If you change the reservation then I think they charge you for that as well.
