Hi,

the key fob doesn't activate the central locking system something like once every 2 times.

I tried both key fobs, same...

I realised that when I stop the car and get out of the car, you can hear a bip, the little red sign indicating "door opened" flashes and I can't lock the doors with the remote. But the key can still lock mechanical (via door key hole).

Does anyone had this problem? should I bring the car to a mazda service?

cheers
vince

UPDATE 1st Aug: I went to MoT for repair, they change some electronic and key ignition parts. problem seems solved after a smooth passage at MoT service. Thanks, vincent

could just be low battery, hows the distance?

I thought about low battery...but when it's not working, it's with both key fobs even when I'm just close to the car (less than 1 meter). The car is from 2005, should I expect low batteries after 2 years?

thanks for your help.

They should last a lot longer, than that... but you bought your car used, who knows if their kids had a fob fetish.

Pry the remote open. It should be fairly obvious.

I know this may sound to simple, but is every door on the car closed completely? I hope it's that easy, if not, take it in.

all doors are correctly closed. I put new battery.

still happening but not always...that's what I don't understand.

I called service at MoT, I tried to explain the problem, but the guy told me that if it's not happening when I'm coming to show the problem, they can't do anything...hmmm...still there's a problem. I'll go to MoT 2moro anyway.
